Kidde Steel 25 ft Fire Escape Ladders

Anybody who lives on the second floor of an apartment and there's no second means of egress and you're on the second floor. This is the perfect ladder to help you get out. I recommended for anybody don't hesitate purchase it and the best price you're gonna get it from Walmart. Don't get it at Lowe's. Don't get it at Home Depot get it at Walmart 👍

It gives me comfort to know I stand a chance of getting out of my home in case of an emergency. They are heavily made but not so that you couldn't pick them up in a hurry.

Quick delivery. Ladder to be used from the 2nd floor. Wish I read more of the description that it is a ONE use ladder. Nevertheless that's on me. Hopefully we never have to use it. Appears to be well made.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took some time to get these in. These were bought because a friend had a house fire. In response to this it made me think of fire prevention and safety at my house. Being I have an upstairs I knew I needed something and the price was fantastic. It's one of those things that if I never have to use the better. Will test them during the warmer months to see how well the work. Quality looks good and are pretty light for something that's suppose to handle a lot of weight.

You can't open the ladder because it is design for a single use. The reason you can't open it is that if you don't know how to return the ladder exactly as it was, it could get tangled when you need it. At least that is what the manufacturer says. So you just have to believe it will work and since Kidde makes great things, I believe it. .

I bought this for my daughters home since she lives in a two story home. We just happened to be talking one day about a escape plan with my 5 year old grand daughter and I decided to order this and ship directly to her. The item seems very sturdy and well built. I just don't want them to not have such a valuable item in case something happens. This item stays in my grand daughters bedroom under a window and the sense of security of having it is worth its weight in gold.

I have a 2nd story and got this for my room in case of emergency fire. it is easy to use but DO NOT take the steps apart. the handles can be "practiced" opening and hooking onto a sill, but the steps cannot. I just reviewed it, and now know what to do if I ever need it. Many people dont stop to think who live in apts that this is also a great investment for them.

My 11 year old son is able to deploy this ladder himself. We tested this and practiced escape from a first floor window. We also deployed it from a second story. It works good. It is challenging to climb down, as it swings in the air a bit, but this is a great last resort for escape if needed. If it were any bigger, it wouldn't be possible for a child to deploy this on their own. Only real complaint is this: some of the edges on the aluminum ladder steps are a bit sharp, on the side that faces the house. Not the main parts of the steps you'd be grabbing onto though. One other great thing about this ladder: it stores well with the way the steps and strap to hold it all in place are designed. Very important for being able to quickly pick up and deploy.

I haven't used the ladder yet as I bought it for emergency use only. I wish that I would have known that the ladder can only be used one time before I bought it. The package states that if the ladder is used more than once it can cause injury or death to the user. I did not notice this warning on the website when I was purchasing the ladder. However, I do feel that the purchase is worthwhile because having it in my home provides a sense of security for my family.

Bought this in case we have a fire in our condo. Great price especially compared to what they charge in Canada where I live ! My only disappointment is that it is designed for a one-time use. Hmmmmm, why??? Because of this, we cannot do a fire drill with it ........ Hopefully it will work the one time we will need it....... Karen from Canada
