KILZ 1 STANDARD Interior Water-Based Wall Primer for Multi-Surface Use, 1 Gallon

Wonderful! I had bright yellow living room paint and used one coat of this over top to paint the room a new color. I could still see the yellow a little through the primer so I wasn't sure if it would do much but it was perfect. The primer held up to where I only needed one coat of my actual paint, and the paint was the true color.

I have not actually used this exact product… I need large quantity of primer as we are replacing windows… I see there is a Kilz 1 and a Kilz 2… Not sure what the difference is… I have used Kilz in the past although I didn't realize there were so many varieties. Price is less expensive when purchasing 3-gallon pail.

We had three flat matte black walls to cover and 1 red one. It covered them all and we still have some left for a future project.

It was wonderful not having to go to Lowes or Home Depot.

I have serious paint prep needs. I meant to buy the KILZ White primer, but got this by mistake. I tried it on a windowsill and it's translucent (I wanted opaque white, to use as a slip under the white trim paint. This adheres well, dries fast, and leaves the surface ready, but I'd rather use the white. This is a good primer, so I'd recommend it for most surfaces. However, if you're painting a wall or trim, I'd recommend using the white under light colors or the gray under dark colors for better coverage.

This Kilz is thinner than the Kilz 2 or 3 so if you need to hide stains (even lighter ones), I'd go with the 2 or 3. It did what I wanted it to do but indeed 2 coats of the finish color. Not a huge deal as this was for a small room.

Covered my spakled wall well. It was an excellent undercoat for my topcoat. The topcoat color dried to the exact hue expected.

Primer was heavily separated, stirred and stirred and stirred. When finally mixed it was not covering the paint which was a LIGHT yellow, Lemon chiffon. Took MULTIPLE layers to get somewhat covered. Will have to buy a different primer to get full coverage

Didn't really cover the issue that I was trying to paint cover I could see the old paint color after applying 2 coats. Waste my time and money

I bought this Kilz because of its low price. It covers no stains! There were minor stains inside a cabinet and several coats did nothing. Perhaps it's for another purpose I missed, but it did nothing I expected. Will go back to their premium product.
