KitchenAid 3.5 Quart 6-Wire Whip, Metal, KSM35WW

I have used Kitchen Aid products for 35 years and I'm extremely disappointed in the wire whisk for use with the stand mixer. For a product that is supposed to be top shelf quality it is unacceptable that the whisk can't be washed in the dishwasher and can't be used on hot foods without losing its coating - and it leaves difficult to wash out black marks all over tea-towels. Kitchen Aid has recently brought out a true stainless steel whisk and other attachments, which demonstrates a response to complaints regarding the previous whisk. It would seem reasonable that the old whisks should be simply replaced at no cost by Kitchen Aid. The whisk doesn't reach the bottom of the bowl so there is a constant need to stop and mix the bottom in and remix. Again, not acceptable for a product of this cost and quality. Also, when the arm is up, the on switch should be locked because it is easy to knock it by mistake and the beater starts rotating at face level.

I JUST OPENED MY NEW KITCHENAID MIXER IN MY NEW HOUSE AND WHEN I ATTACHED THE WHISK- MY HANDS WERE COVERED IN A GREY/BLACK SUBSTANCE THAT WONT EASILY WASH OFF - THE END OF THE WHISK IS COVERED TO AND WIPING 30 TIMES DOES NOT REMOVE IT -THEN IT WAS SPRINKLED ON TOP OF THE CREAM I WAS BEATING---I AM AFRAID TO USE IT AGAIN - IT MAY BE POISONING MY GRANDCHILDREN

This tool is the best in the kitchen but we have noticed a gross black residue from the whisk base. Would be great if new replacement part was better qualitity.

I have a 4.5 qt, and have the wire whisk. Mine turned black in the dishwasher, and even though I wash it by hand now, it still turns black! I was hoping to buy a new one, but it appears that problem still exists. Not sure what to do now, but I would discourage people from using this.

I thought that would be just my issue but seems to be bigger than I thought. How would you guys sort this issue regarding wisk oxidation? It's a pain in the butt every time I use it, leaving all that grey/stain on my hand.... Any suggestion @kitchinaid ?

brought a mixer new this year with this attachment. The black film on the base is a concern, it has only be hand washed !!

The mixer is a excellent product but the part - the whisk is not. It left terrible black stuff after taking out of the dishwasher. You are Kitchen Aid, how come it not dishwasher safe?! it's leaving black residue in whatever I am mixing, on my hands as well. Disappointed! And apparently, I'm not the only one with the issue!

My wisk oxidised after the first wash, which is crazy given the high price. This is the accessory I would use most on my kitchen aid mini so it's extremely disappointing.

I love my mixer but the wire whip has oxidized so bad and leaves black smudges all in my white icing. There is not reason a mixer of this price should have this issue.

I love my mixer and the whisk works well but I am tired of the corrosion where it attaches to the mixer. This is my third whisk and I don't know what to do. I noticed other mixers have a complete stainless steel whisk. I might as well buy another mixer. Tired of corrosion in my food.
