KitchenAid 3.5 Quart 6-Wire Whip, Metal, KSM35WW

I have used Kitchen Aid products for 35 years and I'm extremely disappointed in the wire whisk for use with the stand mixer. For a product that is supposed to be top shelf quality it is unacceptable that the whisk can't be washed in the dishwasher and can't be used on hot foods without losing its coating - and it leaves difficult to wash out black marks all over tea-towels. Kitchen Aid has recently brought out a true stainless steel whisk and other attachments, which demonstrates a response to complaints regarding the previous whisk. It would seem reasonable that the old whisks should be simply replaced at no cost by Kitchen Aid. The whisk doesn't reach the bottom of the bowl so there is a constant need to stop and mix the bottom in and remix. Again, not acceptable for a product of this cost and quality. Also, when the arm is up, the on switch should be locked because it is easy to knock it by mistake and the beater starts rotating at face level.

I JUST OPENED MY NEW KITCHENAID MIXER IN MY NEW HOUSE AND WHEN I ATTACHED THE WHISK- MY HANDS WERE COVERED IN A GREY/BLACK SUBSTANCE THAT WONT EASILY WASH OFF - THE END OF THE WHISK IS COVERED TO AND WIPING 30 TIMES DOES NOT REMOVE IT -THEN IT WAS SPRINKLED ON TOP OF THE CREAM I WAS BEATING---I AM AFRAID TO USE IT AGAIN - IT MAY BE POISONING MY GRANDCHILDREN

Still not happy about the top of the beater. Makes me mad every time I use it. The black comes off on my hands and the food being mixed. This is just not acceptable. Come on Kitchen Aide...don't give us the same standard computer remark. Fix the problem. Get it stainless. This is just not quality, on a quality machine. You should give everyone a free stainless or white coated one, if they complain.

I know these reviews are redundant, but maybe one day they will fix the problem (?). The product works great as a whisk, but oxidizes at the base so bad and so quickly that black smudge gets all over everything it touches. I even tried handwashing it at first and avoiding the dishwasher, but

I have been happy with my mixer for the most part but the whisk base is made of a material that leaves gray smudges on my hands & anything else it touches. These smudges are difficult to remove. Any suggestions about how to prevent this irritating problem?

The product worked fine until we put it in the dishwasher... I would have not not not expect KitchenAid to have parts that will definitely get dirty while using the robot to NOT go in the dishwasher. Like most of the review here, the connector is leaving a grey residue... Will use the tricks shared there and there to try to save it, but I can't believe I will have to wash it by hand moving forward.

I love my mixer but the wire whip has oxidized so bad and leaves black smudges all in my white icing. There is not reason a mixer of this price should have this issue.

I love my mixer and the whisk works well but I am tired of the corrosion where it attaches to the mixer. This is my third whisk and I don't know what to do. I noticed other mixers have a complete stainless steel whisk. I might as well buy another mixer. Tired of corrosion in my food.

This is whisk attachment that came with my new stand mixer. Why on earth you would make a COOKING attachment where the base can't get wet is beyond rational thought. Need to soak your whisk in soap and water? Nope. It will oxidize and leave black marks everywhere. I suppose it's a wise inclusion because now I have to buy a new whisk attachment, but unwise in terms of customer satisfaction.

Like many, many other reviews, I also experienced the coating wearing off of the attachment and black dust coming off in my hands and food. At first, I thought I had accidentally purchased a cheap, non-KitchenAid replacement, but then I verified this was from KitchenAid and it's the best they have. This is NOT food safe and should not be sold. The CA warning that is on the site should be an indicator. KitchenAid, you need to respond to this and stop the responses that say "We are sorry to learn of the concern you expressed regarding your KitchenAid Wire Whip. We would like to inquire further about your review with you. " You know what everyone is referring to. Fix it!!!!!!!
