The handle is very sturdy and thick, the scoop part is thick and durable too. The entire scoop has a bit of weight to it, which I really like as it feels and looks very durable. The quality is great and for the price, it's a good deal. It has helped me scoop really hard frozen ice cream to very soft scoopable ice cream. It has helped me a lot especially as I've been giving a lot of ice cream out to my children this summer. It scoops ice cream into perfect ball type scoops, great for putting in cones and even just a bowl. I hand wash it, it's really easy to clean and dry. Great quality from kitchen aid. I recommend for sure.
