I felt balancing on a metal folding chair was not the best solution to accessing high shelves for a senior! This step ladder is the best solution. It is sturdy and has a locking device. Perfect size to store in even a small closet.

Sturdy! Definitely extends my reach when standing however, the locking mechanism is a little unclear how to use it. Basically you have to Ott the chair toward you or grab the lock with your hand hand and pull back.

it feels sturdy for my wife who is 70 pounds lighter than me, for me no jumping on it but it works just fine if you are careful and do not misuse it.

While it is a good height and came assembled, it is not as sturdy as I thought it should have been. The steps are also very narrow.
