I already tried the other 2 types of sock assists and this is THE ONE! Out of all 3 this is by far the easiest for me to use. I have severe arthritis in my hands as well as back, hips and knees and just putting the sock on the other devices was a real challenge. Now, this assist is not perfect, the cords are much to long and make pulling the device up awkward, BUT until I find better will always be my recommendation.
I have neen wearing compression stockings for 28 months and was using another style of "sock helper". That one cracked, so I went with this softer style, and it is much easier, both to put the sock on the helper, and to put it on my foot and calf. I wish i had this one from the beginning.
I demonstrated how it works, and my mother-in-love used it. She has a broken hip and couldn't put her socks on by herself. She's very happy that she doesn't have to get someone to put her socks on her. Great idea!
Bought this for my mom. She finds it easier to use than the hard plastic ones. She is pleased.
This will help anyone needing assistance putting on socks or compression socks.
Works very well
it was bought for a gift. They said it was easy to use. It made the socks slip on slick as ice. Great product
Got this for my 77 year old Mother in law and she loves it! She can't bend hardly at all and it works perfectly, even for compression socks.
I bypassed the two best sellers because of 1-star reviews. The previous reviews for this product, though very few, convinced me to spend a few dollars more. Overall, it was a good decision. There were no instructions. It took a couple tries and common sense to achieve success. I have lower back issues and cannot bend. This device will prevent hours of pain. For what it is, it seems well made. I wear a size 12W shoe, and it was about the right size. I wouldn't recommend this item if you have a small foot as the plastic frame will over-stretch your socks. The straps are stitched. The ad said they were adjustable, but without instructions, I don't see how. I'm tall, so I have no issues. Another question is how to wash this. The liner seems fragile and the plastic insert may distort in a hot clothes dryer. I doubt the liner stitching will last past 6 months even though the strap end looks well stitched. I wear mostly cotton athletic socks which stretch. I haven't tried compression socks. They may not stretch over the frame.
Doesn't work for compression socks
