K'NEX Imagine - Power & Play Motorized Building Set - Creative Building Toy

I bought this for my six year old grandson as part of his birthday present and he loved it. Now he wants me to go back and get him all of them. Thank goodness they are very affordable.

K'NEX Imagine - Power & Play Motorized Building Set is a hit with my nine year old son. He loves any type of building set especially if a motor comes with it. Over the years he has built many different brand sets and not all are created equal. K'NEX always comes with easy to follow instructions and quality made pieces. I also like that the box it comes in is strong cardboard with a handle allowing you to keep the pieces in for storage. He has built a few K'NEX sets prior to this one and has enjoyed the challenge. The biggest advantage to this set is that it comes with 50 different possible builds! When the package came in the mail and he opened the box, he was so excited and thrilled to get working on it. He rushed to add the batteries into the motor and immediately started on a race car. Once done, he tested out the speed of the race car and watched it go across the wood floor and carpet with ease. Luckily, I took a quick picture of it for the review! He had it taken apart in seconds so he could build the motorized basketball game next. The basketball game has stayed built longer since him and his sister have been playing it for two days now! Now, I'm wishing I would have purchased this set as a Christmas present for him because I feel like anything else he gets will be dull in comparison. Even the three-in-one Lego sets don't even come close to all the unique building options in this 529 part K'NEX set. He literally could build one model each day for 50 days! This is a bonus for me since I like thinking of create homework ideas for my kids that are fun, teach STEAM and teach following instructions. This set provides all three. Plus, building these is such a great family activity. Although my daughter is too young for a set like this, she enjoyed helping me sort the pieces by color and we even counted pieces to practice counting. This allowed all three of us to feel engaged in one fun learning experience together. The most fun comes when when the kids imagination turns on and they start making their own inventions out of the pieces!

Although this a Christmas gift, we are familiar with the K'NEX brand and have always found it to be a good product. The pricing is exactly what we expect from Walmart!

My 6 year old got this for Christmas and he has really enjoyed playing around with it! He has found some of the builds quite frustrating so I would say this is likely better suited to a 7/8 year old.
