Highly recommended if you're looking to collect uniquely colored k'nex parts. They direct the focus of the toy's budget on parts more than they do with packaging/directions. I am very satisfied as a collector.
This is my first time with a knex set. i have done many lego sets with my oldest and i would say on a difficulty lever this is slightly harder. some is due to unfamiliarity but its not so hard that its impossible. As a 1st time older adult user i found that after completing a fee pages it went easier but i did find the instructions difficult. i am taking my time to complete this and am looking forward to my sense of accomplishment in completing this bike.
My 9 year old son has a love hate relationship with this K'nex motorcycle kit. He loves building this motorcycle and has been obsessively working on it for two days now. He has made a lot of mistakes and put things on backwards. He has even had difficulty snapping the K'nex pieces together. But he is learning how to do it. Even through his frustrations, he is still fixated on building this motorcycle. He came close to getting it halfway done on the first day, but then he was so frustrated he wanted to start all over from scratch. The second day, he did a lot better and even got up to the handlebars. It really looks like a motorcycle. He is figuring out the balance between having the frame put in the right place, to the moving suspension, to making sure the steering is on correctly. It has been a joy watching him focus on this build and staying consistent. This is a great product for building patience in children. It has gathered his focus and kept him occupied for a great amount of time each day. I was worried that this would be a single build, then left alone forever, but I can already see that he is going to enjoy taking it apart and putting it back together all over again and again. The best part about it, is that he is ok with getting help from his mom on this one, so it has provided an amazing opportunity for bonding time.
K'NEX Mega Motorcycle Building Set- 456 Parts- Working Suspension, Authentic Replica Model is an actual replica of a real sports bike with over 450 rods and connecters that snap together with complete ease. It's for ages 9 & up, even an adult can assemble this motorcycle. The suspension works as well, there's also a kickstand included which will allow for it to be on display.
I've had some of k'nex toys, and I helped my son built those. My son wanted to make this by himself. He is 9 and he got frustrated with it for sometime and I had to help him when he was almost done. He is happy with the end result. But it's still falling apart. It helped him built confidence that he could do a big project by himself. And is a great eye and hand coordination exercise. It took him 5 hours to put it together in two days he was able to put it together. I was hoping these pieces would hold better, they are better than before but still can fall apart. I'm still waiting on k'nex to comeup with some development so if a kid has to pull apart than it doesn't get loose, and make it fall apart. Again great brainteasers and eye and hand coordination exercise, pretty decent in size and colors are great as well. It's better quality than the last set we bought.
I received the K'NEX Mega Motorcycle Building Set with Working Suspension, Authentic Replica Model, through the Sparks Reviewer program. Yes, it does have 456 parts. Do not worry about the 456 pieces, worry about the leftover parts you see after completion. There are many tiny parts in this set. The age recommended is nine or older. I will suggest an adult keep an eye out. So I'm staying at my sister's place for a week, and I brought the K'nex Mega Motorcycle Building Set with me. My nephew is nine years old. When it comes to building things, he touches and goes. So after the first two days of trying, he was frustrated and gave up. The third day I joined in, and I let him take the lead and watch his little brain just working at it. I helped a little bit, but I'll give him all the credit for putting it together within two and a half hours. So now he asking for another K'nex building set. (Christmas is around the corner.) I do recommend the K'NEX Mega Motorcycle Building Set - 456 parts - Working Suspension, Authentic Replica Model. I watched my nephew as he was looking over the included instructions and the pieces and was figuring it out. This building set got him thinking. I was surprised. So much fun.
I got this kit because my son loves motorcycles. It also helps to get the kids involved in building their motor skills and to get them off the computer for a few hours. There are a lot of parts and the motorcycle takes some time to assemble. However, there is a lot of satisfaction for the kids when they see the completed product. Some of the parts require some help in snapping into place from an adult. Overall great product.
This is a fun toy but the pieces are very little and hard to connect together. I would say it's too hard for most 9 year olds and more for a 10-12 year old to enjoy. The directions for making the motorcycle were a little complex and needed adult assistance but the kids had fun just playing around and seeing what they could put together.
K'nex Motorcycle comes in 456 little pieces. Some pieces are very small, pieces come in a plastic bag, but be careful not to loose them as some pieces are very small. Some pieces are very realistic looking. The exhaust, handle bars, seat and front nose piece are all realistic motorcycle looking pieces. The age for this motorcycle is marked as ages 9 and up. I would say this should be 12 and up, unless you have a parent to help you. My son is 12 and this took him several hours to complete and he had to take it apart and start over again a few times when it did not go together the right way the first time. The instructions are color coded which does make it easier to put the pieces together. Sometimes though it is hard to tell exactly how or where the pieces are supposed to attach. The suspension on this is a neat feature. My son was disappointed with the kickstand. He was hoping the motorcycle would stand with the kickstand, but it was not enough to support the whole motorcycle.
It was somewhat fun for my niece and I to put this motorcycle together. It took us about 5 hours, we did it in two parts, in two days. There are lots and lots of smalls parts to this mega motorcycle. It comes with instructions but I wouldn't say good ones. We followed the instructions to a tee but it wasn't always easy to understand because there are a lot of parts to this bike and the company didn't name the parts. They show want parts you need for each step but doesn't tell you size, so they show rods but doesn't say what size rods so we more than once used the wrong length rod and then had to undo and redo it Most of the parts slips into each other but some needed to be snapped together and those were hard. My fingers hurt after putting some areas together. We were able to put they bike together but we were missing a couple of parts at the end and had a few left over. We did not lose any and we did follow the instructions correctly so....I don't know. The finished product is nice and a good size. It has suspension indeed, the bike doesn't stand by itself when its connected. If you want the bike to stand by itself you need to remove that part. If you are up for a challenge then go for this, otherwise pass.
