I give this item 5 stars just for the build and feel of it alone, it is 110% rugged and ready for business. The fact it operates very smoothly, just adds to it's value. 5 stars from me.

This is an incredibly tough bicycle lock. I think the combo pack, with both the cable and mini u-lock, provide the ultimate protection for your bicycle. I am also very impressed with the anti-theft protection offer that is included with this product. It shows me how the company stands behind their product, which I definitely appreciate. I also really like how Kryptonite has a "key safe" program which allows consumers to register their key number. Through this program, they will send out your first pair of standard replacement keys for free, which puts my mind at ease. It is easy to lock up your bicycle with this lock, and it is easy to unlock with the keys. I also really like the plastic cover feature. The u-lock has a plastic cover that you can slide over the keyhole, which will keep dirt and dust out of it. Oberall, I am very impressed and happy with this product and I highly recommend it!

I received the TKO Kryptonite Lock 4' a couple weeks ago. The standard in bicycle security with a $500 USD anti-theft protection with a security rating of 4. It has a 4 ft long cable that provides extra protection too. This lock is made of solid steel and is resistant or pry resistant. It also comes with a set of two keys I shaved for even better security. I rode my bike downtown and used it and came back 2 hours later and my bike was still there at the locks worked fine. Over all I have to say this is a top level four bike security system I can't be beat I received this product from the spark reviewer program.

I got this Kryptonite lock to help protect my motorcycle. Where I live, I'm forced to keep my bike outside on top of my trailer. I just don't have anywhere else that's practical or more secure to keep it during the riding season. Living on a steep hill really limits the possibilities when it comes to storing a 400+ lbs. bike. As it has been originally, my setup has a few security measures in place. The trailer has a drop down ramp that I have double locked with two large padlocks, the hitch has a hitch lock on it and the trailer has railing on 3 sides that can deter anything less than at least two very motivated and very strong guys intent on carrying away my motorcycle. But I've been wanting a lock like this to attach my bike to the trailer. I originally bought one of the large U type bicycle locks for the same purpose, but it didn't quite fit, so I knew what I needed. Kryptonite provides some seriously heavy duty locks that are well made with clever features and an excellent warranty. Their U locks equipped with a steel braided cable match what I had envisioned for this project. I just wanted it as an additional deterrent. The way I'm using it, if someone wanted to steal my bike badly enough, they only need to come prepared with a large set of bolt cutters. My rear tire is too large to get the U section of the lock around my tire, which is why the first lock I bought didn't fit. So I have the U attached to the railing of my trailer and the cable around my rear tire. It's an additional security measure that will add time onto any attempt to steal my bike, making it more of a risk and therefore the likelihood that any potential thief could get caught increases. It's all about raising the odds in my favor. Grabbing one of Kryptonite's heavy duty locks can make that happen without spending a fortune. It's apparent that Kryptonite offers locks that take security seriously. One of the most important features for me was that this lock not cause any cosmetic damage. The only part of this lock that comes into contact with my bike is the steel cable. The cable has a thick protective sheathe, making it extremely unlikely to cause any cosmetic damage. The primary lock section of the U has a plastic cover on it, the U has a protective cover, the clamps for the cable section are covered, and even the key hole has a drop down plastic cover. Having a way to protect the keyhole is important for a lock that sits outside 24/7. The lock mechanism Kryptonite provides on this lock is a disc style. The disc style lock employs a number of discs inside the keyhole that have to spin, which requires a more elaborate key to unlock. This mechanism is far more difficult to pick compared to a typical lock that uses pins which can be picked with something as simple as a paper clip. In the past, I've picked locks myself as a hobby, so standard tumbler locks can even be picked by a novice. The disc lock is also more secure against drills. With standard tumbler locks, the drill can easily grab and spin the lock open within seconds. I've had to drill out locks on several occasions when the key went missing. With the disc style, it's more likely to damage the lock to the extent it can't be opened than to unlock it. This is my first Kryptonite lock. As a brand, I've never really paid much attention to their products. But while doing some research for this review I've found that they make a wide range of high end security products. The quality of their locks rival or exceed even the most well known brands out there. One impressive aspect of their product line is the warranty. They offer a lifetime warranty on all of their heavy duty locks. They even offer a free key replacement program for customers who register if they lose their keys. They include a registration form in the package with the lock. It's interesting actually, I can remember a time when everything came with a registration card for you to mail in. You can also register on their website, which is far more convenient and reliable in my opinion. My only issue with this lock has to do with the locking mechanism. I have had some trouble getting the key in on a few occasions. I had to wiggle the key around a bit to get the key all the way in and then it was difficult to turn. I've had issues with locks giving me a hard time before. A bit of lubrication in the locking mechanism will help with that greatly. Especially if you keep the lock outside where it's exposed to moisture. Reapplying a bit of grease or oil every few months can reduce the likelihood of a recurrence. I like using white lithium grease in a spray can with a straw, allowing you to spray it deep inside the lock. Overall, Kryptonite makes a very nice product. This is going to keep honest people honest. Not suitable for sketchy or long-term parking. Way better than combo locks but still would be vulnerable to determined/skilled thieves. Everything is as advertised. Arrived quickly. Compatible with all the Kryptonite U-lock mounting kits

I've had this lock for almost a year and have felt very happy with it and secure using it but I found an added bonus when my husband got his bike. Would you believe that we can lock up both of our bikes with this one lock? Yeah, correct and I don't mean with just looping the cable around the two bikes. We can ride somewhere, park, get the bikes close to each other, loop the cable around a pole, loop it somewhere on the frames, slip the cable ends over the U-shaped part of the lock, put it through the wheel of each bike, connect the other part, lock it and that's it. Now unless someone wants to: Cut the cable, cut both the tires (rims and all) or try to defeat the lock in a reasonable amount of time before getting caught, go for it... Good luck with that!

The U-lock part was not long enough for my bike to secure to pole but the 4' cable took care of that.

Kryptonite TKO Bicycle Security Mini U-Lock & 4' Double Loop Cable Combo Pack This lock not only works really well but it also saved my outside furniture from the Hurricane. I used the lock to hold down and keep together the chairs and table. It worked well for me my items were in tact but items not in this did not fair well. The bikes were inside and safe but the next day used it to keep the bike safe I love having the cable and the ability to get a replacement key is awesome.

KRYPTONITE Bicycle Security Mini U-Lock & Cable I used the mini u-lock on both our bigger bikes and my toddlers bike. I had never purchased or ever used any kind of bike lock before. This being my first time; I had to read the instructions and found it to be easy to understanding it. I found the kryptonite lock and cable to be sturdy and secure. It was a little harder for me to use on my toddlers bike ,because of his training wheels prevented me from getting close enough to the pole I was trying to attach the bikes frame and back wheel to. I had to really look for a secure grounded pole or post that the u-lock could fit around. When i couldn't find a pole small enough, I just used the cable to go around the pole and thru the back tire and bike frame and then attached the u- lock and locked it up. My bike was safely secured from being stolen its just that I couldn't use the u-lock like the instructions said at certain places.l almost forgot, I noticed how the key hole to the lock was no longer visible after you locked it and removed the key. There was more security because the lock couldn't be tampered with.
