La Crosse Technology 724-1409 Wireless Digital Rain Gauge with Indoor Temperature

This looks like a neat product. I got them for Christmas gifts so not sure of how it works, but so far I am really happy with it.

I installed this rain gauge. It has not rained yet to see how good it works. I will write a review when it rains.

Easy to read display and set unit up was simple. Comparing rain totals to our manual gauges, they were a match.

When I first received this unit, I was unable to get the rain sensor to connect with the monitor. I tired changing to different brands of new batteries, looked online for solutions and had no success. I finally sent an email to La Crosse and they responded immediately. The customer service rep said they would send out new sensor and I received the sensor within days. I inserted the batteries in both units and it synced up immediately. It has been working flawlessly since then. It seems to be pretty accurate as I have a regular rain gauge just inches from the sensor and they both read about the same. I have the monitor in my kitchen window and it does not lose connection. I hove being able to see at a glance how much rain I have had. I am very happy with this unit and extremely impressed with the La Cosse customer service.

This was a replacement. The previous one only lasted two years so that is why I only gave it four stars. We have other La Crosse gauges, so this is the only one compatible or I might have chosen a different type. Overall, we like the functions, but we just wish they lasted longer. This is the third one we have bought in a span of about seven years.
