Excellent learning tool for youngsters!

Ferber December 26, 2014

Amazing concept to help children learn their alphabet! Each individual tin comes with its own pictures cards inside to help the child learn their letter! I received this product from Spark Reviewer and gave it to my friend who has a four year old son who is just now learning his ABC ' s and she was overjoyed with it. The visual appearance of the whole alphabet spelled out on these small cans are great, not only can the child use the pictures inside to learn the letters they can use the cans themselves to spell out words. My friend said within hours her son was spelling out words like ball, cat, dog, and was able to visualize them on the cards that go with each can, great product! No sharp corners or sharp edges, the pictures are cardboard so be careful with little ones such as one year olds who can put them in their mouths, it does have a warning for three years and up so just be wary of younger children getting their hands on these toys. The colors are great and appealing for a child and my friend says keeps her son entertained for hours, far better than a video game or television show could! Well done Spark Reviewer for proving an excellent learning tool, a hands on one at that instead of a computer based one that schools are all using now, the basics are the best. I recommend this to every parent with a child who is learning their ABC's nit only is it easy to use but fun and educational at the same time.

Excellent!

Hello I received this product as part of the spark reviewer program, and I'm very happy with it! Let's start: The toy comes packed in a big box which contains a "can" (made of cardboard) per alphabet letter (when i saw the picture on the internet I thought that it was made of clear plastic with paper inside, anyway, what matters is the bright idea of the toy, not its construction), and has a plastic lid. Inside each can there is an uppercase and a lower case letter along with some images which its word starts with the letter of the can, and in the backside of the image is the written word for it. So if you want to teach a kid about words and letter association you can mix all the contents and make him sort it and put in the correct can. I'm planning to use this with my nephews and my little kid when he grows up a bit (for my 7 yo boy this is far easy, in fact he wasn't even interested in the game). Now, if you are planning to use this in a school, I believe that it can work great to make little kids understand better the words and letters. The only downside is maybe the construction of the can...I believe that it can be easily bent, or deformed if you don't align the lid properly...other that that this is very good! highly recommendable! Best regards

EXCELLANT LEARNING TOOL!!!

ChelseysMomLoveToShop January 10, 2014

My 3 year old daughter LOVES these and can't get enough of them. She loves seperating the different items and walks around with them all day. She even asks for them. They are very well constructed, colorful, and fits perfect in little hands! They are real life images so not to confuse the child which I love. We practice one can per week and at the end of the week, we combine the two. Highly Recommended!!

Educational and fun!

SSSandANS December 26, 2014

As a teacher, I typically create most of the manipulatives my students use in the classroom. This box of Alphabet Soup Sorters is durable, cute, and educational. It would have taken me hours to put together something like this, and the commercially produced one will intrigue my students. So, I consider it a Win-Win! Many students need additional help with letters and sounds; this box of soup sorters will be a great phonemic awareness activity they can use independently, in a small group, or that I can use during class instruction. Each can contains an upper case letter, a lower case letter, and photos of items that begin with that letter. The photos also have the names of the items written on the back. (Built in differentiation!) I have been thinking of several games the students can play using these sorters. Not only will this be educational, it is attractive and will display nicely in my classroom. I would highly recommend this to Parents As Teachers Educators, Home School Moms, Preschool Teachers, and even those who teach Kindergarten or First Grade.

Great educational fun

Cheri August 4, 2018

This is so cute. My grandson loves them. We are using them to learn his letters and the sounds they make. The picture quality is great. I wish the cans were all plastic not cardboard, but they are sturdy. The lids are plastic.

Great toy many pieces

GaryINSher December 28, 2014

I choose this item for my Grandson who is 3 ½ years old and it was a BIG hit on Christmas. This toy aids in the development of basic concepts, supports alphabet awareness, letter sounds and recognition. This toy also helps to improve language skills and spelling, fine motor skills and promotes hand and eye coordination. The Alphabet soup sorters is bright, colorful and eye catching. This toy has 130 photo cards, 52 letter cards and 26 soups cans and lids, this is a lot of pieces to keep up with and little hands are very skilled at misplacing things so this is a concern. The cards should be laminated better, if this toy received heavy use I can see the cards being torn and if they get wet – forgot it. However, I would recommend this toy, it is very interactive and my grandson was so proud of himself when he got the letters correct. This is a confidence booster.

A fun learning resource!

Aharb73 October 24, 2014

The Learning Resources Alphabet Soup Sorters is a fun learning tool for children in Preschool or Kindergarten. There is one can for each letter of the alphabet. Each can contains the capital and lowercase letter and cardboard photos of items which start with the can's letter. The cardboard photos are very realistic and made with vibrant attractive colors. Each cardboard photo has the actual word on the back. For example, if the photo is an egg then the word "egg" will be on the back of the photo. I would like to see one thing added to the soup containers in addition to the photo cards and upper and lower case letters. A manipulative item placed in each can would be an enhancement to the Learning Resources Alphabet Soup Sorters. My six year old daughter, who is in kindergarten seemed to enjoy opening each can to see what was inside. She read and showed each card. She also initiated conversation about some of the photos on the cards. My daughter had fun while learning about letters, the photos and words on the photos. The price of the item is reasonable considering it could be used at home or in a classroom setting. The quality seems to be good and would probably last through several children.

Confusing

SuperReviewr November 29, 2014

I think these alphabet soup sorters are fun but not really great for learning. Some of the images end in the letter and not start. I find this confusing for my little one. I feel like they should be all consistent by all starting with the letter. Also fresh out of the box some of the can were already dented, the lids don't fit well, and some of the pieces are already bent. Considering that the box says “ages 3+ and grades Pre K+” I feel like the container and photographic images should be made out of more durable materials. I was most defiantly disappointed the product was already damaged before we got to play with them. On the plus side my daughter loves playing with the colorful images and letters. The set includes 26 Soup cans, 130 photo cars, 26 uppercase letter cards, 26 lowercase letter cards and one activity guide. Each can holds 5 double-sided photo object cars, 1 uppercase letter, and one lower case card. The activity guide can help you teach your little one. We just play with them. We do sometimes take 2 cans and dump them out then sort them back into the right cans. We don't do this with the cans that have picture cards ending in letter. I find this is confusing for my child.
