Learning Resources Ruff\'s House Teaching Tactile Set

This product is terrific! I have worked in three different school districts and have ordered it for each. As an SLP, this is one of my favorite games to use for any speech/language therapy session. Children of all ages are drawn to it, regardless of diagnosis. I highly recommend this one.

I absolutely love this toy for my son who has sensory input issues. My other kiddos also love it and finding the bones for the puppy!

Imagine you are four years old. Ruff's House is full of secrets from the minute you open the box. The ten rubber bones are perched on the doghouse roof. Remove the plastic from the ten bones and you discover that the bumps are different on each pair of matched colors. Remove the plastic wrap from the doghouse and you find a doggie door made of black flexible rubber. You must reach inside - it simply calls to you. Your hand touches softness and you pull out Ruff, the puppy you always wanted (that doesn't tear up shoes), plus ten more bones! As the teacher, I'm looking at this toy thinking of all the different educational games I can play with the kids - sorting and counting and matching. Sorting by colors, counting by ones and two, and matching by texture. A wonderful toy!! I received this toy at no charge in exchange for my honest review.

My oldest son loves playing with their new game. He caught up to it pretty fast too! The way we play it is we put 5 of the rubber bones inside the house while we hold the other 5 in our hands. We randomly choose a bone and we let him see it, hold it and touch it. Once he is ready he'll stick his hand inside the house and let him find the bone he has in his hand. He finds it quite rewarding to find the right bone! We also use the soft bones the same way. And just once have we had both rubber and fabric bones in the house. It went OK. Boy decided to be sneaky and peak inside the house!! The boys also play together....throwing the rubber bones down the hall!! And they take turns!!

We purchased these for child care providers who have special needs kids in their care. They are bright and colorful and have a lot of pieces.

Looks like fun.

Our toddler loves this toy! We are using it to teach her colors and matching. The textured bones are perfect for little hands and our daughter loves stuffing the bones into the dog house to "feed" Ruff the stuffed dog. The one downside (and this is on us ) is that our toddler also tries to feed our pet dog. Customer service has been helpful, prompt, and the staff at Learning Resources go above and beyond. What a great company!

This is a wonderful product for matching, search and find, exploring different textures, and working on different educational skills. We play this game during circle time and give the children the opportunities to work on expressive and descriptive language. I would recommend this product for home and school play.
