LEGO Classic Creative Ocean Fun 11018

He outgrew Duplo and was looking for a chance to jump into the "real" lego world. These are challenging enough for him to spend some time without getting frustrated or asking adults for help. I plan to buy different sets for him in the future!

I bought the LEGO Classic Creative Ocean Fun 11018 Building Kit; With 6 Mini Builds, Including a Viking Ship and a Yellow Submarine, Plus Extra Bricks for Imaginative Play; Educational Toy for Ages 4 (333 Pieces) for $15.99. This is a pretty cool Lego set because it has 7 pretty simple builds, but it also has extra blocks for more creative play. It took me 23 minutes to build all 7 ocean items so it would probably take kids from 30 minutes to an hour to build all of them plus a few fun pieces. The box says this is for 4 . I think it might be challenging for 4 and 5 year olds, but they could definitely do it with some adult assistance. I teach third grade and my 8 and 9 year olds love building quick and easy builds. Their minds would run wild after building these and I'm sure they could come up with some other awesome ocean creatures. The first three bags have 2 or 3 builds and then the other two unlabeled bags have the extra pieces. The instructions were easy to follow. I do wish there was a brick separator in this box because some of the small and intricate pieces are hard to remove from each other. It would be nice if the box could recluse as well so all of the pieces could be stored inside. Overall, it's a pretty cool set for $16 with a ton of bright and unique Lego pieces that aren't typically in the basic Lego boxes.

This set also comes with many extra pieces for imaginative play. A cute set to gift someone or to add to your personal collection. Super fun for littles just getting started with legos as well!

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. The ocean fun classic lego set has fun mini builds. Our favorites from the vehicles are the viking ship and the plane. From animals, we loved the whale and seahorse. The builds were fairly simple, but they have great details. The set includes two additional bags of bricks. One bag has color bricks that include pink, aqua blue, and purple. The other bag has neutrals, brown, sand, and gray. There are some special bricks and a couple of extra pairs of eyes. It's a great set for small display builds or imaginative play.

First of all, I have to say, I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. This is a great classic Lego set to either begin or add to your existing collection. All the classic Lego pieces and an assortment of fun colors. I enjoyed following the suggested builds provided with my son as well. Great Lego set to collect more bricks for your collection.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. This is a fun Lego set. It has 333 pieces. There are lots of colors and lots of non-traditional parts. I wouldn't but it as my first set, but it's a great expansion set for those with other classic Lego sets. I expect this product to last for years and years. Please note that as with all Lego sets, assembly is required.

Pieces are sorted by build in baggies and there are also bags of extra pieces. The theme is under the sea. The booklet with ideas is easy for younger kids to use and follow instructions themselves. It's a great tool to practice following directions and independent fine motor practice. My kids loved this kit and putting all the little creations together.

This set contains a nice variety of pieces for a reasonable price. I prefer the smaller kits to the larger, intricate ones, and I am very happy with this set. The age is listed as 4 and above, but the pieces are pretty small. It is better-suited for older kids. I also wish the box resealed so that it could be used for storage.

Inside the box are 5 bags and you can make the builds featured on the box with the first three bags that are numbered. The last two are for using your imagination to build and I really like that concept. I do agree with the box in saying that it's recommended for ages 4 , the instructions and builds were pretty easy to follow along with. Only thing I wasn't a fan of is the "seahorse" build, I can't tell what it is supposed to be and they don't associate names with the builds so seahorse is my assumption. Besides that, this was a fun, easy set that I would recommend for anyone.
