This is not the kind of Lego kit that builds one thing (like a building, spaceship, or dinosaur) and nothing else. In a sense this is a throwback to the Sixties and Seventies, when Lego sets were more open-ended and consisted mostly of simple pieces. However, this one is more colorful than the old-style red-blue-yellow-white, with new colors added. The versatility of the pieces in this box encourages open-ended play and discourages burn-out. The current price is very attractive. It is wise to add a baseplate to the box if you don't have one already.
This set is a really great value for the price. I recommend buying a base plate and a couple of minifigures to enhance play.
The Ordering.Pick-Up Experience: I ordered this product on Wal-Mart's website during Cyber-Week 2016, which was a simple enough process, if you know anything about shopping online. I picked up the product at my local Walmart about a week later, and they offered to open up the box to make sure I got what I asked for, which I did. No complaints here. The Product Itself: I had the pleasure of getting to use this product with my 10-year-old sister over the holidays. It came with enough classic Lego pieces to fuel the imagination of any kid old enough to use them, and in addition, it included fun pieces, such as tires, doors, windows, and a couple small rotating platforms. There were pieces in new colors from when I was a kid, which was a pleasant surprise, and the box even came with a small booklet of instructions to kick-start the imaginative process. I wish Legos weren't so expensive, though.I would only buy this if it's on sale.
My kids really enjoy this lego set. Several kids can play with this set since it has so many pieces. They can get really creative with it!
At 49.99 , the per brick price is 0.03 cents, a great value. This box has a nice mix of wheels, doors, window pieces. Only drawback is the amount of larger bricks & plates. It has lots of small bricks & studs.
I had tried for 2 previous years to get this item for 20 dollars in the Black Friday sale. I finally was able to get this huge bucket of various pieces by nabbing in the online sale. Thank goodness! I was scared my munchkin was going to grow out of Legos before I could get my hands on it!
Lots of pieces, and you can build most of the models at once to let the 'city' come to life. I was disappointed there were not all the same shapes in all colors, so you can only make the tractor in red, instead of any color. But thats a LEGO thing, not Walmart. Although I couldn't make the tractor in green, blue, or any other color, its still fun. I'm looking at ordering it for my oldest nephew when his birthday occurs this year.
My only regret is not buying more. I got my twin 5 yr old sons each one of these and they love them! I found them on sale so they were a great value. The box comes with so many Legos but I underestimated how much my sons would like them and they have been building maniacs! They could use another box!
It's hard to get more Legos than in this box and at this price! We bought knock-offs earlier in the year which were very good quality, similar to the real thing but which are no longer available, and now you can get the real thing for close to the same price. It comes with a booklet with projects to build, the first 4 have worked perfectly and no missing bricks. The kids love them, if yours like Legos just get this box!
I purchased this set while it was on sale. I have since seen it selling for as high as $92. It's certainly not worth that amount of money. This is a great mixture of pieces and provides plenty of opportunities to show your creative side when building.
