Lego Star Wars - Luke Skywalker's X-Wing Fighter

Just getting into legos late in life but these are fun to build and look very cool and the little figures are awesome!

Brought back my childhood memories. I bought original x-wing lego set when I was a teenager, when I saw this I had to have it for my son who is the same age now. My son and I had a blast building together

This is my first X Wing. The build was pretty straightforward. Price was pretty good for this build. Some minor things I don't like was the front landing gear doesn't retract, R2 sat a little too high and also too many stickers especially the ones on the technic sections. I eventually left the stickers off that part. Overall it's a pretty solid build and it's great to swoosh around. My son absolutely loves it. This set actually is right in the middle in terms of cost but not giving up too much so u can still put it on display and play with your younger kids. Can it be better, sure. But to me Lego did a pretty good job on this X Wing. I give it an -A.

So fun and great quality! My husband and I did it together and are very pleased with how it turned out.

This is a lovely little model. It uses technic pieces very cleverly. From a distance it looks superb. It is not only considerably more affordable than the previous full-size X-wings but also doesn't have those elastic bands... The design is pretty pared back to give us the cheaper price: a little more cockpit detail, neater undersides and better disguising of the fold mechanism would have made this the best Lego X-wing.

Great build and great minifigs means good value for money. The wing mechanism is quite complicated (lots of technic pins) so adult help for a child needed. My set is not even close to white with most “white” pieces looking old and off white - more like cream sun damaged white. I have never had this problem with Lego sets before but know others have so suspect I got unlucky this time. The box art clearly shows a brilliant white colour so this is disappointing.

For what it is and how it is priced, this is (potentially) an excellent set for kids. For me, there is an over reliance on stickers and I despise the design of the nose. However, I am not here to review the set but to express my concerns with the set. The landing gear clip connection is the worst Lego connection ever and it falls off every time I move the set. The first time I moved the set, two of the laser cannons fell off and the nose fell apart a number of times as I held the ship whilst adding the wings and has happened again with the slightest knock. Finally, with the slightest nudge, R2-D2 falls out. For a set designed for kids to be swooshed about dog fighting TIE Fighters, I find the construction to be a concern. Apart from the R2-D2 problem, the other issues can be fixed using matching parts from just about any previous X Wing and at the time giving the ship a much better nose.

Hi I received this Lego set yesterday. When I opened it with my son today, we found that it was filled with bags miscellaneous FAKE legos, and NO PIECES OF THE X-WING SET. TOTAL SCAM!!!!

Was initially quite excited to build this set, good mini figure selection and an iconic build for a good price. However, no low price can excuse the lack of quality control. My sticker sheet came partially undone and wrapped within my instruction pages partially ruining some of the stickers and also that page of the instructions. And when I thought that would be the end of my issues the clear plastic windshield piece is scratched. I'd recommend it as I'm sure these aren't really common problems but I'm highly disappointed.
