What a set!!

Tuggeru December 31, 2022

I absolutely love this Lego set, I'd even go so far as to say it's my new favourite! The finished model is visually stunning and extremely detailed. The colour scheme is great, the new luminous yellow is a fab addition. Although the set is just over 2000 pieces, the build is incredibly complex and took me 28 hours, although I did make a mistake on the gearbox stage which I had to go back and correct. There are some very fiddly segments to construct, but hardly any repeated methods. The motorised features are glorious! The spinning rotors add to the realism of the model. The winch works well, as does the retractable landing gear, although the landing gear shouldn't be retracted under the weight of the model, as the

H175 not m review

Easily the best Technic set Ive ever had. The only problem I found was thankfully during the build with the landing mechanism. A slippery long pin near a door that looks like a guide but acts as a jammer, has no need to be that long. It can easily be removed and swapped for the shorter slippery pin. It can struggle a little with the rotors when moving it around but with everything running off a single motor is pretty awesome. I prefer this over those supercars at double the price.

Awesome

Bits&Pieces August 23, 2022

This is the best technic I have built. (Previous include Ducati and BMW M100 bikes, Porsche 911 and Ferrari 488) It is a complicated, non-repetitive, interesting build and once complete the motor works beautifully. Attention to detail is amazing. Not cheap but I actually thought it was good value considering motor and battery housing included and the overall size of the finished helicopter. My only suggestion is to add a stretcher to add some tension to the end of the hoist.

Brilliant set

TRICH October 20, 2023

This set is amazing. I have many many Lego sets including a lot of technic Lego and this set is a great addition. The fact you can add power and the wheels, blades and winch work makes it even better. It's a challenging build but that makes it even more excellent value. I did make a mistake I found about 2/3 the way in and ended up deconstructing a lot to fix it, however it was my own fault and wasn't annoyed as it meant I spent even longer building it. I would 100% recommend this set.

Great Build & Functionality

Lego Dork January 13, 2025

Loved building this set and how a single motor controls 3 different functions. Only drawback is the front/mid section of the roof near the rotor is slightly unstable. 4.9/5 stars.

Great Technic Build

MajorDad January 26, 2023

As a retired Army officer and helicopter pilot, I couldn't wait to try this build. It was very fun to build. I made a mistake along the way, so when I finished the winch would not work. I had to de-construct it down to the second section and start over because the gears are all in the core of the helicopter. It was fun to build a second time and after the second time everything worked fine. I agree with some reviews that point out the retractable landing gear does not hold up very well. It does hold up satisfactorily for display. I don't think rigidity of the tail boom is a big deal. It is well secured, so I feel no worry that it will fall off during play. I know Technic models are not completely true to life, but I would have liked for them to put a windshield in so it looked a little more realistic. All in all it is a great build. It is great to help kids (big and little) understand the workings of a helicopter. The cyclics and collectives do move the swashplate realistically, though not very pronounced. I look forward to showing it to my grandkids to play with.

Awesome

Maverick Van Heukelom May 14, 2023

I got this set and loved it from the beginning. The spinning propellers, retractable gear, and winch are great. The sliding doors add cool play features. The adjustable pitch of the propellers is extremely cool. I do wish the set had a stronger Moyer.

Fairly challenging build but fun

Spilner August 4, 2022

Definitely need to pay attention to each step as some parts are very complex but its a rewarding build. I like that you can open the top white canopy to show off the working internals for the blades as the controls are rather clever. Very heavy set especially with the batteries in which the instructions have you put in from step one. The sliding door setup is similar to the old 9396 model but imo lacking in thought as they easily catch in sliding. As another review mentions the hail is a little on the weak side but we're not really supposed to pick this up by it i suppose. The lumious yellow pieces were a surprise as i thought they were going to be normal yellow.

Can you make a fix please lego

SenseiHonorableFlower100 July 10, 2024

I enjoyed the challenging build process up until I had to remove the cockpit 2 times during the build because nothing was aligned properly and there was no clarification in the manual on how the cockpit should look. Another problem is the rear prop not spinning with the main prop because of the building technique they used, (page 266 step 515) the blue cross axles and the white tube don't have enough friction to have the rear prop spin like it should. I kindly ask for yall to give us a fix for this issue. Thanks
