I had a lot of fun building this little loader! It was easy to put together with pieces chosen to be different colours for different lengths, which I appreciate! This is only my third Technic piece but the one I was most excited about. It's a simple design but that's part of the appeal -- clean lines, built solid, and the lift is really smartly designed. It does a whole lot with only a few pieces! It definitely takes some coordination to pick things up with the scoop. It takes two hands because of where they're placed. I'm really impressed with how well it works and the range of motion on it. It could be altered to a forklift very easily. The scoop can hold a lot of items and weight without tipping down to drop them, likewise the loader is balanced so that wherever the scoop is positioned, it is firmly on all four tires. It's a great size to go with Lego City vehicles! I've included pictures with the little bulldozer from the City line. Minifigs fit in the loader's seat :) This little guy is going to fit right in with my city trucks and construction site. No stickers in this kit to worry about.
I bought this cheap set to kill a bit of time, for the amount of pieces and size of the build I was surprised. The working mechanisms worked really well and the build was enjoyable. Definitely recommend for the price it is.
Loved the ease of putting together. It looks cool and goes with our other Lego farm equipment!
Over the years the mid to high end sets are constantly changing to reflect the aesthetic of the times, however when it comes to entry sets, they are kind frozen in time; time capsules that carries the very essence of the Technic line - simple yet functional, looks the part but never put too much emphasis on styling. This little loader is very reminiscence of 80s to early 90s design pattern; printed tile in place of stickers, minimal panelling for maximum exposure of the functional parts, including multiple functions but using as few parts as possible (140 pcs). Among the good variety of functions, the most interesting part is the arm-raising one; using the HOG that usually reserves for steering for something entirely different is an out-of-the-brick thinking right there. The lacking of the actual steering function is quite understandable, for what little space there is steering is probably not an easy feature to implement, nor would it be a good selling point for a loader, which mostly focusing on the ‘loading' part. To ‘compensate' for such tradeoff, printed tile is used for the instrument panels, which is a pleasant surprise in the age of stickers, in addition the clear parts are used for the front and rear lights, it is like making a statement saying that just because is small doesn't mean it can't look good. The entry sets are the heroes the Technics line needs, but they rarely get the praise they deserve. Despite their larger cousins keep getting bigger and more expensive (but not necessarily more functional), the small ‘underdogs' of the line are upholding the Technic virtue; function over style, simple yet complex, accessible to all and most importantly can be played very well.
I love skid steers so I was very happy to get this set. It was a bit hard to build but I was very pleased with it. I love that you can put a lego person in it to ride in it. It fits well with my other Lego cars. I use it to load stuff. It is good fun!
Grandson, age 9, got this for his birthday and loved it. He worked on it a long time one afternoon and got it put together. It runs well on the pull-back method.
Great quality
My son requested Lego sets for Christmas. I'm excited to gift it to him.
Love this, it's small but has great movements and the scale closely matches other common sets.
Great item to use as a Christmas gift....large selection of Lego products on Walmart site. Easy ordering and quick delivery
