Fabulous Nostalgia!

DJ Burz August 30, 2021

This was my first Lego kit since a child some 40+ years ago and I absolutely loved it! From the detailed front wheel drive, drive shaft and steering wheel to the sliding door, rear tailgate and pop up roof. However, the rock and roll bed and the kitchen were my favourite parts of the kit! The only gripe is the tailgate is a bit flimsy and when I inserted the pop up roof, it fell apart and was very fiddly to put back together. However, after some patience, it's all good again. I really enjoyed this build and have already purchased the VW Beetle and will be looking to get the T1 Camper Van. Keep going with the VW T series please Lego!

T2 Campervan

DamoFett August 12, 2021

I thoroughly enjoyed this build. It had some technical aspects that were a "little bit" of a challenge and a couple of fiddly parts, but overall a great build. The finished model is larger than the previous T1 camper which has allowed for more details and the inclusion of the sliding door. I love it :-)

Great Build but is fragile

AidanCamps August 21, 2021

I wish I could reply to some of these reviews . Don't blame Lego when you build it incorrectly and can't follow instructions. Buddy literally posted a photo complaining how the pieces don't line up but it's clearly built wrong haha. Thanks for the laugh but great set for a Volkswagen fan as well as a Lego fan like myself. Started to get back into Lego because of the Volkswagen Lego sets and hoping they make more :)

Was a great build! No concerns

norms November 10, 2022

I was hesitant to buy the product cause of the reviews. But I loved the design too much to not buy it. Honestly, I literally had no problems building it. I followed the instructions, built it on a table and everything stayed in place. No frustration. Defs buy it and just… follow the instructions haha

Not Why People Diss This Set

Nostalgic fanatic December 16, 2021

Having the VW T1 I had to get the VW T2 and I was so nervous to get this set because everybody disses this set and I don't understand how you guys struggled with the roof above the windshield. All you have to do it hold everything and secure it down and boom problem avoided. I will admit it is delicate but just be patient and it will work. This was another awesome set LEGO, I LOVE IT! Thanks, J

Challenging build, with a few changes

WillsT5 December 31, 2021

So this set has received a mixed bags of reviews and most of them are right! Build quality isn't the best as many other sets in the creator expert car range are much better put together, I should know as I have them all! The original look of the bus from the front doesn't resemble the T2 in all is glory and that's what is the only let down of the set. The interior is stunning, yet a little minimalist and the rear end is spot on. I had thoroughly enjoyed making this set until the last 3 numbered bags which was the front of the bus just because of the styling and the roof as it doesn't always want to sit flush when the roof is closed, but will eventually close shut. I've gone and tried to change the front end myself with changing the direction the lights are pointing and removing the front wheel, just my own preference, all changes have been made with pieces in the set and set the bus off a lot better in my own opinion. I would recommend this set as it is a large, and rewarding, set that will take a few nights to get it done casually. The set doesn't deserve the criticism that people have given it but, again, my honest opinion, this wasn't a favourite set of mine to build.

Nice Set with Details

CCAPICAL September 8, 2021

This is a nice set if you are a delicate person with lots of patience. I agree with some previous comments that the parts are fragile & can fall off easily during building. There are 2 things which I really don't like: the “handle” of the slide door & the back doors. It's sooooo difficult to open the doors with just the handle, especially the one for the engine -_- One little opinion for the roof: Pay special attention to the steps as where to put the pieces; when I finished the first time, I couldn't close the roof completely (see the last photo), then I had to rebuild it from scratch, but now it's ok.

A really fun build

Mad_4_Toys August 6, 2021

I had so much fun building the T2 Camper, lots of great features like the side door release and and the mechanical roof. Great build and a great toy! Looks really nice next to the T1

Campervan

Nic53 August 30, 2021

I got bought this by my husband for our anniversary. All was going well until I got to bag 9 and that's when alot of the front fell of and was hard to put back together, the sliding door also kept falling off, the front seats and the cog for the bottom of the steering wheel was very lose, the kitchen cupboards also fell apart when you opened them, the kitchen was my fave bit to build as it had a lego banana. Most of the moving parts are very flimsy and you feel you can't show people as it may fall apart. The look of the camper is great when finished, but quite delicate.

Disappointing

ChiefSqueakyDandelion September 7, 2021

I LOVE Lego and find building the bigger more complex sets both rewarding and relaxing. This set was neither. It's probably the first set I have wanted to return but the completist in me wanted it to display with my T1 model. The only thing I will say is that it admittedly looks good once built. The design feels ill thought out, the mechanisms have been over complicated and the general stability of the whole model is poor. The amount of times I had to back track and rebuild due to collapse or breakage was irritating and unnecessary and to be fair, I'm not exactly new to this! It feels like an over indulgence by the designer and I would mirror other comments that this needed better QA. The price difference between this and the T1 is also ridiculous. I realise that this model is larger in scale (again, why do that? You know people will want to display these kits together?) but it still leaves a bad taste. On the pro side it looks good once done, the interior detail is good and the colour is spot on. This won't put me off Lego but I found the experience more frustrating than rewarding and would not recommend this set lightly to my fellow AFOLs.
