I got this as a gift for my mother whom is used to tablets, an iphone, and a desktop windows PC.
Pros:
- The build quality is surprisingly good, hinges seem solid and there is little flexing flipping from laptop to touch tablet.
- If you are getting a screen protector, which I recommend, and it will be anti-glare or matte finish: the maximum brightness on this Lenovo Flex will leave you wanting, especially in sunny outdoors.
-In tablet mode, the touchscreen is very responsive and out of the box (with no screen protector) the screen is glossy, very clear, and hi-res.
- The keyboard does exactly what it should. Don't have anything negative to say, it's quiet with solid feedback and a short amount of travel in key presses.
- Trackpad is big, responsive and as good as it gets in this price range. Not flimsy, and not too much flex under the pressure of left/right clicks.
- I got the 4GB version, and the bloatware and settings out of the box do take up almost every bit of that RAM. You will need to do some spring cleaning to optimize the Windows 11 in S Mode (or immediately convert to Win 11 Home for free).
Cons:
- If you want to use this in sunny outdoors, or say wfh out by a sunny window in a cafe, etc...you will likely dislike the low maximum brightness. It cannot combat direct or bright indirect sunlight.
- The Speakers are lackluster. Which is a shame, since they appear positioned with tablet-mode in mind...but trying to show someone a video with a range of sound levels in a space with noise above conversation level may be a challenge.
