This unit is a 12 btu so I expected it to be able to cool a small 550 sq ft cottage. Well it exceeded my expectations. It is very quiet and the energy mode works well. Set it to you desired room temp and it will shut down when it reaches desired temp and automatically turn on when it goes above. Be warned it is heavy to install and you will need help lifting it into place. But it is so worth it. A little steep in price but you will be cool!
works great and is very quiet. the setup instructions were pretty confusing in some places, and the illustrations were so small they were of no help. I ended up getting the manual online and then blowing up the pix so I could what they were talking about. the unit itself is first rate, based on my 12 hours of use so far.
This unit is in a room 20 x 24 and supplements my central a/c. It works great. Cools the room in just a few minutes. Quiet. Remote control with fan settings, timer, temp control, power saving mode. Purchased this on sale at Walmart.com and saved about $50. Has a 3% decline on mounting bracket for water shed. Arrived in two days. Installed in 30 minutes. Has easy access to filter and it's washable.
A non-profit small museum purchased this after the one keeping archived material cooled stopping working. It is energy efficent, easily installed, though large, not too loud and came a day early. Only had it running a week and a half, but so far so good. Would reccomend this product.
I live in a large studio and this AC 8,000 BTU is just the rest size, I use the energy saver button. My neighbor set it up for me in about 10 minutes. I can either use the remote or use it manually, I like manually, getting off the sofa and walk over it too.. it cane just in time for our heat wave! Thank goodness for cool air. Great value for a great AC!
I like the remote! I like that it is much quieter than the 16 year old unit I had previously....I like that I can set it at a temp. Had a bit of trouble with the install as was a bit different set up than previous, but not too hard to figure out. Running it on economy is the one thing I don't care for....it causes the fan to kick on every few minutes to check the air temp and is a bit noisy. Otherwise I am very happy with this unit.
Works great except that it's never gotten all the way down to 60. Typically it keeps the room about 63 according to my thermometers. I mounted it at a slightly higher angle downward so the water would't splash onto the fan ring which would have driven me nuts, but I don't think that's the issue, the compressor stops when it "thinks" it's at 60 but it's not. It pretty much stops compressing when the room gets to about 63. Still far better than the other one I had from GE which would only get to 66 then shoot down to 62 and slowly warm back up. The service tech said that was within specs. Unreal! PS: My room is under the sq ft of what the unit is supposed to cool with no interference from anything.
I love the AC unit. There is a little drain plug that lets water run out where you want it. The only two problems I have had so far are that it had multiple ascetic damages when it arrived. The top and right side were dented and the outdoor heat exchanger grill had minor imperfections. I don't think these are huge deals if you are using the unit on a second floor but I think it takes away from how good it looks without damage if someone sees it up close. Also, a lot of little flys were inside the outdoor part after the first night. I don't know if this is normal for window AC units. I think they need to package this better for how much it weighs. The delivery driver left it on its side because it is honestly too much weight for one person to handle safely.
I purchased 3 of these. They are stronger than I needed. Bit much for bedrooms but overall they are fine. Many features, energy saver works as intended. Remote is basic, plain, cheap if you are going to use the remote alot maybe look elsewhere. Very cold AC unit. Purchased mainly because of brand name and price. This was the best price for a well known brand at this size.
LG Window air conditioner came dented. Big gap where the bottom of the window meets the top of air conditioner. The front corner piece of the front of the air condition with the grill piece does not align on the left top corner. I am not happy. Fast delivery.
