Very happy with the product.

Anonymous June 16, 2013

This was a replacement for a Lifetime acrylic backboard that had been destroyed in a hail storm. A little expensive I feel but it looks really nice and I can't complain about the quality. The instructions could stand to be a little clearer. It works great on our Lifetime adjustable pole. Just make sure when you are taking one down and putting up this one to hold on to the pieces from your old backboard and rim. We had to interchange several parts to make it fit with our mounting bracket. It took two adults to install this.

Great Value Product

CamperJim May 30, 2016

This combo is well made featuring a rim with very good springback. Read carefully that this is a 44" backboard. I replaced a 48" board without giving it much thought. The difference was noticed at first but players quickly adjusted and reported the 44" board to be plenty ample. The instructions were a bit confusing to me, a mechanical engineer. Remove the hardware and instructions prior to installation and take time to study would be my advise.

Great product but online store needs help

Ehhoa March 9, 2016

Great product but you should provide specific bracket and hole location specs for all your backboards online. I would have stepped up to a more expensive model had this info been available online

Beware of Brackets

FCdad May 5, 2013

We bought this backboard to replace another Lifetime backboard that had cracked. Our thinking was that we would go with the Lifetime board since the adjustable post and the old backboard were Lifetime brand. The backboard itself is light and seems to be sturdily constructed, but, despite Lifetime's assurances that it should fit fine with any Lifetime mounting structure, the brackets we had did not fit with this board, and they were JB welded to the old board. Fortunately, I'm a pretty good hack. So, I broke out the remaining plexiglass from the old board and hack-sawed off the brackets. I already knew that the mounting holes on this board weren't going to fit with the old brackets, but fortunately, the elbow of the Y-shape was at just the right height that I could bend the brackets backwards 135 degrees and drill holes to mate it to the new board. Now that it's all together, the neighborhood kids are happy. They offer a 5 year warranty (though I didn't read all the fine print), but I'll be pretty happy if it lasts a couple of years (based on the other two boards we had). All in all, I think that it was a decent value. The price was lower than I would have expected, and now that it's assembled, I think we'll get our money's worth--the hoop always gets plenty of use. If you are unsure that your brackets will mate with this backboard, plan on an afternoon or so to get it all together. If you don't mind tinkering, you'll probably be happy with the result.

Backboard woes

Bklynguys December 12, 2013

Appears to be a good product but I purchased it because it said it could be mounted on a pole however it didn't come with anything to mount it. You need to buy a mounting kit which almost doubles the price of the unit. I will be better off buying a new complete unit. I will returnit to Wal mart and look into a different unit

Seems overly light weight and flimsy. My biggest complaint is that they weren't clear that you have to buy a universal mount system to go with it. It comes with no mounting hardware. (I want to hang it on a garage).

Have not rec'd yet and your system does NOT allow a blank answer so I had to give them One-star. For quality, we had a lifetime backboard for 15 years and it always worked well. Now a piece of the backboard and I'd like to get another 20 - 25 years out of this one.

The manufacturer "Lifetime" is misleading

EstonianMarine May 7, 2014

This is the second one of these which I had to replace as the plastic backboard itself will deteriorate and disintegrate (average 5 years). Then to replace the backboard one must buy a replacement hoop, net and hardware as there is no option to purchase just the backboard itself. I am certain replacement cost for just the backboard would be significantly lower than purchasing the hoop, net and hardware with it. There is nothing "LIFETIME" implied or actual in this product as even the accompanying instructions state that the plexiglass life expectancy is 5 years.
