Lifetime New Basketball Backboard and Rim Combo (48 inch Polycarbonate) - 73729

Very pleased with this basketball hoop. It does take a couple hours to put together, so be prepared. But, when done the family has a ball with it. Great deal!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the product. Didn't like the installation instructions. We purchased both the Backboard/Rim and Adjustable Pole Mounting Kit. Two sets of instructions where you had to go back and forth between them and if you were mounting to a pole you would have extra parts but they didn't tell you what (it's still on the pole so I think I did it right :-)). The Mounting kit offered an extra set of instructions showing the pictures of the actual size of the parts (very helpful!) the BackBoard didn't... frustrating because there was one time I used the wrong parts and had to go back a couple steps. The pictures were awful. But between my son and I (and you will need two people) we managed to get through it successfully.

Very nice backstop. Mine did come with a small ding in the frame that I had to paint to avoid rust. (Manufacturing defect, not shipping). The install directions should be improved to make it more clear on how to install their wall mount brackets. But overall it's a great product. Very happy.

Just installed it today and it wasn't too bad. Didn't want to have to buy a new mounting frame for it so we had to drill new holes in the frame, but honestly it wasn't bad at all. The backboard had a small scratch on it but other than that, it's a great product. The rim and net are beautiful!

The Universal Mounting Kit assembled nicely. All the pieces were there and always read the directions twice. The backboard could have either used more directions about drilling holes to add the plastic cover pieces to the bottom of the backboard frame or the holes could have been pre-drilled. I managed. Attaching the backboard to the Mounting Kit was cumbersome because there isn't much space between the wall and the back of the backboard. We managed The Rim and spring mount went together nicely. Not sure what people would do if they didn't buy the Universal Mounting Kit made by Lifetime. Some of the parts needed for the Rim were in the Kit. Installing the mounting kit took about 4 hours for 2 people. I needed to add extra support for the garage wall being attached to. The backboard took a couple of hours working slowly. Mounting the backboard to the wall only took about 30 minutes, but it was the most intense part of the job, 2 people, 10 feet above the ground using a ladder and a pickup truck.

We replaced a cheaper and broken backboard of Lifetime with this one and so far it is fun to play with it. For the price paid, it is good quality. You need to bear in mind that you need the mounting kit in case you do not have one. Only challenge was that the provided springs for the rim are too long and did not fit the original Lifetime mounting kit I had. We used the older springs and it works well with it too. Overall good product, lots of fun to play.

There are no brackets to attach this backboard to anything, you will need to purchase the mounting brackets also.

Advertised as "universal" with the "universal" mounting bracket. Shown in photos to have four holes on back bracket. It only has two and is NOT compatible with Spalding adjustable poles. Returning.
