Always stay with the clean, crisp flavor and taste of the Lipton Brand Teas. Refreshing as iced tea combined with equal parts of cinnamon-apple flavored Lipton Tea. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Historically, We've favored Red Rose Tea and Lipton Tea equally. We've recently changed our allegiance to Lipton exclusively for the convenience of the individual packages. I purchased a box of 100 today and fortunately read I'm these reviews before I opened it, and was able to return it for a refund. I bought two varieties of Twinnings Tea to meet our individual packaging requirements. I hope the marketing team realizes that this might be a mistake to the proportions of "New Coke" and offers both packaging options
I give Lipton black tea a 5 for taste and a 1-2 for quality of the tea bag itself. I am a lifetime Lipton tea drinker and have no plans to change that. I have noticed since the switch to the foil packs that I get some boxes with bags that are fine, and some boxes where almost every tea bag bursts and leaks. I finally remembered to save a box when I opened it so I could send you pictures and info. Please fix the manufacturing issue that causes this. With the last box I had, I never bothered to put away my strainer as I needed it for nearly every single cup. That is disappointing.
I have been a Lipton Tea drinker for almost 35+ years. I haven't seen the new non-individually wrapped bags, but I can say they will definitely be a problem in the office. The unwrapped will not be as sanitary. I came to this site to see if something changed with the bags. Approximately 1 out of every 10 tea bags seems to leaks tealeaves into my cup! I usually leave the bag in it the entire time I drink. There is nothing more disappointing then bringing that cup up to your mouth & finding it full with tealeaves. It's even worse when I make a “travel tea” & noticed when I'm on the road. What's happened?
I normally would give Lipton five stars because I love the tea but the new packaging has turned me off. It is very inconvenient and like a package of crackers, once opened the tea loses it's freshness. "Stay Fresh" packaging it is not. Please bring back the old packaging. I like to take several tea bags with me to work or when traveling and the new packaging makes it inconvenient to do so. I also usually transfer my tea bags to a canister and again with the new packaging the tea does not stay fresh. I don't know who thought this new packaging would be a good idea but it is not. I am finishing the box I have and will be looking for alternatives for my black tea and orange pekoe tea.
Old style, paper packet wrapped bags had more crushed leaves. New style seems to be all dust. Not only does flavor seem different, the fine dust ends up everywhere. Since the foil is not resealable, how do the other 24 bags "stay fresh"? The old packet was handy and also provided a vehicle for dealing with the wet tea bag. Don't think new style is for the customer, but rather a cost-saver on the production line. I drink 8-10 cups/day and switched to Lipton years ago when my Twining English Breakfast packaging was changed away from paper packets - I think their flavor suffered, not to mention their "new, improved" packaging increased their price 45% overnight.
The new naked teabags are too embarrassing to share. I have a custom-made teabag dispenser, but the unwrapped bags 1) rip 2) leak and 3) do not stay fresh. I have tea canisters, but the foil-wrapped sections are too large. Without the foil, the teabags are naked, leaky and unfresh, and they cannot be kept clean without the use of my own foil or plastic. This new packaging hurts the environment.
This tea is for herbal support not for ice tea. This tea bag shouldn't be placed in boiling water. I use ice tea with meals. This was given as a substitution for Lusianne family tea bags. That is incorrect being the reason black tea does not come in individual bags! Those pulling orders need to know these things!
I have been a Lipton Tea drinker for more than three decades, and I was not happy when I accidentally bought a box of these foil-wrapped bags. They are loose in the bag (do not have the classic Lipton paper enclosing the tea bag), so they make a mess in the crystal jar I keep the tea bags in (hey, it was a present) and I can't toss one in my purse without putting it in a plastic bag. I got online trying to find the old Lipton bags because my grocery store only has the ones in the foil. I guess I am switching to another brand. :-(
After many years of chosing Lipton over all other brands I have now told my wife not to buy any more for me. The new package is such a cheap mistake. I no longer can put the tea bags in my old metal tin or carry with me on the go. I believe the paper cover protected the bag and kept the product longer without a mess. Your company could be the leader but someone in your group wants the Lipton to be just another cheap brand.
