Customer Insights: Rated 4.22/5 from 23 reviews.
I am reviewing this simply bc of the terrible undeserved reviews which I can only imagine are some sort of corporate espionage. It's caulk. It's in a tube. It does what caulk should do. I have used about 20 tubes at this point and is no different than dap or other brands. It's plain white caulk. I don't understand the bad reviews, if you need caulk and want a good price this is the stuff.
Used this around an exterior door frame and it worked great. No cracks, no shrinkage and cheaper than its main competitor. Note that the description says paintable in one hour, which is what I wanted, but the tube started paintable after 24 hours. I painted it after two hours and it is holding up well, but it was still "wet" after two hours.
I bought this along with a much more expensive brand, Quad Max, for installing vinyl pocket windows. I used a dozen tubes for sealing the gaps and trim joints. This stuff rocks. Excellent to work with. Not sure on the exterior trim work as I am using the other brand for that. But I wish I had purchased more of the Liquid Nails Multi-Purpose Calk LRS-280. The price was incredible. This stuff is not sticky and tacky like the Quad Max stuff. For an all around caulk. I highly recommend this stuff. I am not a professional, just a DIY homeowner. Very easy to work with.
Looks like the bad reviews are old reviews. If there was an issue of the caulk tube being over pressurized, looks like the issue has been resolved. Good caulk, easy to trim.
Really like a strong fast caulk to make my caulking efficient
Does the job fine, accepts paint well.
My husband did not like this as much as the other brand you sell. I brought some of them back and repurchased other ones.
Liquid Nails™ made a name for themselves with their various tube adhesives. So I thought their caulk would be equally impressive. Warning: IT IS NOT. This is the worse brand of caulk I've ever used, including weird, no-name brands I've run across over the years. Seriously, this junk should be pulled from the market. Like others have already stated, you cannot make a decent bead of caulk, whether you cut the dispenser opening small, medium, or large. Once you squeeze any caulk out, it continues to run. And run. And RUN. Even if you remove the tube from the caulking gun - it continues to run. Everywhere. On and on and on. The wastage is significant, and the mess is all yours to clean up. No good all the way through. Don't buy this junk at ANY cost. You've been warned.
Good grief! What a mess this stuff makes. It comes out of the tube by itself and there's no stopping it. It gets all over. I've been using caulk for years and have never seen anything like it. This is really bad. Maybe I was just unlucky enough to have gotten a tube from a bad batch but I'm not willing to spend my nickel testing another one. You guys need to go back to the drawing board with this stuff.
I needed a tube of caulk. Store was out of ALEX but had this brand for same price so I bought it. This stuff is BAD. out of the tube, it is significantly more runny when compared to ALEX, so don't be expecting great results when caulking vertically---it will sag. However, the worst part about this product is the waste. It just will not stop coming out of the tube---and this is with the pressure off! I expected so much more from a name brand. If you have a big caulk job coming up, choose your caulk product carefully---choosing this one will cost you twice as much for the material and add about 15% more in time.
