I bought this pan for a very specific purpose. I got this to use on my portable Mini-Max Big Green Egg which has a cooking surface of 13.5". I wanted to be able to cook on cast iron and close the lid on the grill (see pictures). The small loop handles made this possible. Upon receiving the pan, I oven seasoned it numerous times. It comes pre-seasoned but I like to add more seasoning to make it non-stick. I cooked bacon, shredded hash brown potatoes and eggs. Cleaning is easy using water and a brush. The quality is excellent as is the case with all of my Lodge cast iron.
Did a quick season on the stove top (wiped premium olive oil inside all over, and allowed it to smoke about 10 seconds, removed from heat- once cooled - applied a very thin coat of the same olive oil - ready to use) Cooked with it last night for the first time cutlets covered with flour, fried in Crisco. No sticking! After the cutlets were done, poured out Crisco added butter to the pan, then cooked sliced onions, made brown gravy from packet, put the cutlets back into the pan with the onions....AMAZING! No sticking at all! Wiped out the pan with a wet dishcloth, did another quick season. I look forward to passing this pan down in the family! I love the smaller handles, easier to use with a counter top induction hot plate! Lodge still making the best pans in the marketplace!
I'm a big fan on Lodge cast iron. I have the different size skillets, a taco fryer skillet, I ordered the 10. 25 dule double handle pan n I'll be doing some research on a 3 or 4 quart cast iron pan. I have a glass top stove n I can use them on it. I also have a medium size dule double handle one too. The cast iron pans quality are great n worth the price n money n I recommend checking them out too. You can bake, simmer n low medium fry with them.
I love Lodge products so of course I love this one . No one can ever go wrong buying one . No matter what other pots and pans you have every kitchen is not complete without an iron skillet. They tell little care and they last for ever. I am 64 yrs and I have the iron skillet my great grandmother used. It will be handed down to my son. And Lord willing it will continue to be handed down for generations to come
great price for a lodge pan - im very pleased, and i really like that it has two short handles rather than one long handle. much easier to store and to lift/move
Love this brand at Walmart. Very sturdy and worth the price. Saw this and thought the size would be perfect for 2 people. Goes from burner to oven with ease.
This right here will do some serious cooking. Did some sesame steak, and toasted some garlic bread with cheese another day. Lovely just season with oil after hand washing and thoroughly wash cloth drying. I season with olive oil. Simply beautiful. Jesus loves you and your soul is priceless!
It is just what I ordered. Ordered because this skillet is the one I use to sear steaks before I put them in oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes to achieve medium rare steaks. Course steaks must be approximately 2 inches thick. lol. Thinner steaks won't work for this
Very heavy, cooks well, but when it gets washed there's a rust that forms. 🤔😬😐 So, I put a layer of olive oil and wiped it down. That seemed to help, but I didn't feel comfortable using it more than twice because it kept happening.
Hated the experience. That's just me. Obviously there are lots of people who love cast iron, but not me. I hate the iron smell, everything stuck, hated the washing, drying, and oiling everytime, and heavy for my arthritic hands. I returned it.
