Lodge Seasoning Spray Oil

I this spray is very fine so it goes on lightly and lasts longer than I thought it would. It works so much better than just putting on regular spray. Glad I took a chance and bought it.

The beauty of this product is that I can use it on both cast iron and nonstick cookware. That's because it's 100% pure canola oil, with no additives or propellants. EXCELLENT product, but pricey as all get out. You're paying for the Lodge name. Hopefully, a competitor will introduce a lower price-point product.

I love this spray; it keeps my cast iron pans in great shape after washing and drying. Spray little bit inside pan, use paper towel to wipe around inside then do the same to bottom and left over on handle. Done

Getting my Lodge round griddle to season properly is a challenge. The acid test is cooking an egg. If I have to scrape the thing with a metal spatula, that don't cut it. After using peanut oil, ghee, and olive oil, I decided to go to an approved source and get the Lodge brand spray on seasoning. I tried it first by heating the griddle on low for an hour after spraying and wiping, then used some ghee. The egg still stuck, but I scrapped less (whoopie!). After cleaning with dish soap and gentile scrubber, I re-applied some more Lodge seasoning. This time, it was no different, the release was subpar. I guess I'll have to do more oiling and heating with the Lodge seasoning. Next time I could save some money if I got a bottle of canola oil instead. I still wipe anyway. For eggs I'll have to resort to non-stick pans. I'll have to try different foods to determine each one's stick level. This could be an ongoing saga.
