This mouse is great! For those of you that can't find receiver, or think it wasn't included...it is inside the battery cover. It is black so kind of hard to see, but right beside the battery. Pull it out and insert when you want to use %26 it houses it and keeps you from losing it when stored.
At first, I tried to go with a cheaper alternative, but it just didn’t hold up in value. The arrow would jump around on the screen randomly, and my page would randomly move up or down out of nowhere. I should have known better and went with Logitech because it has never let me down before. Worth a few extra dollars in my opinion. Battery lasts a pretty reasonable time I’d say.
I already had the non-“S” version of this mouse, and have always loved the compact and sleek design. The reason I bought this mouse is that it was advertised to come with the unifying receiver dongle. For those that may not know, the unifying receiver allows one dongle to be used for up to 6 different wireless devices (keyboards, mice, etc) as long as those devices have the unifying receiver logo. Well, this mouse DOES have that logo, but the receiver that comes with it is one of the “Logi” dongles, that is ONLY programmed to work with this one mouse. So, I can pair the mouse with an already existing unifying receiver that I own. However for me, that didn’t help. I owned a unifying supported keyboard, but was missing the dongle. So I was hoping to use this mouse, and the advertised unifying dongle that was supposed to come with it to have a complete set. But now, I have a working mouse, but would still need to buy a separate unifying receiver dongle to make my set work. Message to Walmart: Update this listing. It is deceptive in stating (and picturing) a dongle with the unifying receiver when that is not comes with this product.
I've had a mouse from this same company for a few years and decided to buy the same brand because my old one wasn't working properly. But am disappointed that this new one doesn't have the red/green indicator on the on off switch like my old one did.
Walmart or Logi should update this listing. I love the old M325 mouse from Logi(Tech) and whe I came to walmart to buy another I searched specifically for the M325. For some reason, Walmart stated this mouse was the M325. It is not. This is the M317, but the listing never states that. Why it matters. The scroll wheel is not the 'smooth' wheel of the old M325. This one is resistant and 'clicky'. Most will ask; why that matters, but as someone who works on PCs all day designing, I need my mouse to be responsive, quick and limitless. The M317 is not that mouse.
I wasn't as happy with this mouse as I have been with other Logitech. It didn't seem to connect as well to the computer as the previous Logitech. It has a slow response and seems to disconnect and reconnect. I finally ordered one that I had been using previously and gave this one to the laptop where it is not a necessity. Not as happy with this on the desktop.
Be careful, the mouse does not come with a Logitech USB Unifying Receiver. The pictures are deceiving as it shows an unifying receiver with the orange symbol. But what you actually get is an all black nano receiver only meant for the mouse. It cannot connect to keyboard or other Logitech devices like an unifying receiver. If you only need the mouse, it works fine. But if you want to connect keyboard to same receiver, avoid this as the description is wrong. I played with it for an hour trying to connect my keyboard, before taking a closer look and realizing the receiver is not unifying. I had to return it to Walmart, as my previous Logitech keyboard was missing its own receiver and was useless without an unifying receiver. Note I ordered this for pickup, so initially thought the store may have given me the wrong mouse. But then I took a look at the shelves myself and saw no Logitech mouse with a unifying receiver at Walmart, even though the item says 'in stock' on the website. Whoever wrote this description doesn't know what a Logitech unifying receiver is.
This item is not what is in the picture. It's misleading. The picture shows an image of a M325 mouse, but it's an M317 mouse. It does not have a battery indicator light. It only has three functions and not five....it does not wheel scroll left and right. The writeup show the battery should last 18 months. The specs for a Logitech and M317 only say 12 months.
Listing clearly shows a Logitech M325 with a UNIFYING RECEIVER, but I was given an M317 with a standard non unifying receiver. Waited in the curbside (only way to get the online discount) for 30 minutes all to get the wrong item. Seems like I'm not the only one based on other reviews.
MISLEADING TITLE - Does NOT contain a Unifying Receiver... Absolute bait-and-switch. The title explicitly claims this mouse includes a "Logitech Unifying Receiver," but it ships with a cheap, non-programmable, Nano Receiver. For those who don't know: a Unifying Receiver (orange star logo) allows you to pair multiple keyboards/mice to one dongle. This mouse comes with a standard Nano dongle that ONLY works with this specific mouse. If you are buying this to get your other Logitech keyboards back online, DO NOT BOTHER. This is a "Nano" mouse incorrectly labeled as "Unifying" to trick people into buying it. Walmart needs to pull this listing for false advertising.
