Always have love this product

When I was overseas, I always ordered this product because you cant buy it in foreign countries. Now that Im in Virginia, I still have to order it because its not sold here. The product is very good and allows me to make my base almost as good as my mother

This mix makes flavorful gumbo which is so close to homemade roux; it's a tremendous time-saver. I have used it several times, adding celery, onion, file', and garlic , along with seafood. Most people cannot tell the difference.

This gumbo mix is flavorful and so easy to use. Wouldn't know that it came from a bag.

Again the shipping was not so good. Got an email saying that it had delivered on the 9th it wasn't got it today 13. As for the product I haven't used it yet

Gumbo base is higher in sodium than competitor. This package has nearly 11,000 mg sodium whereas Zats is at least as good with only about 6,000. I know I shouldn't buy stuff like this if I'm concerned about sodium but it does taste pretty good (but salty) and I haven't tried gumbo from scratch. Before I made this package, I did a review on its high price mentioning that I paid 2 bucks for it in a grocery store while wallys had it for 6.

It all looked fine, good aroma, I did read the reviews and ordered it despite the "Salt comments" too make it short, the usual onion celery bell pepper and garlic oakra then chicken and andouille sausage all sauted with only oil and dash cayan ONLY,NO SALT. followed the directions. with great anticipation I took the first taste and oh my goodness salty salty salty. Added the rice and tasted it again still salty. hoping to reduce the salty taste double the rice double the water and DeAndre assault was extremely salty taste and unfortunately I could not eat it. waste of my time and all the prep work so on. I recommend tasting the dry mix before proceeding if I had done that perhaps I would have stopped and saved myself lots of time and money!!
