Louisiana Fish Fry Products Cajun Gumbo Mix, 5 oz (Pack of 24)

My husband made this gumbo when we were on vacation in Pensacola two years ago. It's delicious. We can't find it in any Walmart in the area we live. We're pleased that it is on Walmart.com.

Maine is just too far away from Louisiana to be able to pop into a Cajun restaurant for a good bowl of gumbo, and I am too lazy to go through the process of making rue from scratch. I have found this to be the next best thing to home made gumbo. And to me, it taste better the next day.

If you make it with a broth base, like chicken, be sure to use no sodium or low sodium broth. Nothing more, it's just really good and the whole meal cooks up in 30 minutes or so.

I have Cajun friends and have spent a great deal of time in the Cajun parishes of Louisiana and eaten lots of homemade chicken and sausage gumbo. That was years ago. Imagine how delighted I was to find a mix that really hits the nail on the head! This stuff is WONDERFUL. Cooks up in minutes (unlike the real thing), and the flavor is just right. I always add some pre-cooked chicken and some cut-up kielbasa or something similiar. AAYEEEE! Serve over rice and I feel like I'm right back down there in Mamou or Breaux Bridge!

I'm hoping it's the same product that I have purchased in the past. I noticed that the package has changed a little

I've been using this brand for many years and it's the best gumbo mix. I also will use it to make my gravy.

It has a brown gravy taste. Wasnt what I was expecting usually use Zatarains but I wanted to try something new
