Mainstays 1" Black Ball Adjustable Single Curtain Rod, 30-84"

This curtain rod is very attractive. I am happy to see that is is also very sturdy. It is approximately 1" thick and fits my curtains nicely. All in all I am very happy with the purchase of this rod as it is sturdy, attractive and also reasonable priced.

Very nice and substantial curtain rods. I bought them in white. They look heavy not flimsy and thin. I’m happy with my purchase. The quality is great and the price is great. I did hire a handyman to install them for me. I’m not handy nor inclined to do manual labor! I enjoy purchasing the decor.

I am crippled. The person helping me had a minor problem with the extensions, but nothing to write home about. They did the job; look good; block the sun. Nice!

Was a little disappointed at the curtain rod i ordered 2 alike. The color was very good like a polished bronze. BUT the ball of the curtain rod was like STYROFOAM. WHAT???? i could see the coating had come off and white Styrofoam was showing. DID NOT screw into the rod as usual...IT just pushed into the end of the rod and was not as secure as if it had screwed into the metal ...Eventho 18$ i feel like this was very cheap made. will not purchase these again . I DID use another curtain piece that had the screw in metal and added my own beautiful Green wooden balls .....

nice and goes great and looks great but it's kind of a cheaper must have right now rod. or in my case it fit my budget. I would grab it up in a heart beat but if you get it it is hallow easily debatable and it is nice and light tho which is great assembly was nice didn't have no issues just don't put to much weight on it and remember it's hollow so easily able to bend or be dented .

I love the look of the rod but it could be a little more sturdy when having to extend it for larger windows. I don’t like the lip it makes when adding the middle piece. I have tab curtains and they get caught on the lip and I can’t open the curtains. Other than that I like them.

The insert slides freely in side other tubes (loosely). When setting part of rod down with insert, the insert slid to the bottom, popping off the end cap. And it won't fit back on, easy to come off, impossible to put back on. Listed as metal, but plastic ends. Hard to hang at minimum width, with insert sliding around. Poor Strength.

I’m actually annoyed because I love the look and sturdiness of these, but if you want to use the extendable rod, the finial doesn’t fit in the inner (smaller) extendable piece so you either need a crazy long rod and connect the 2, or you get one finial which is not what I wanted. The instructions say to just move the finial from the non-extendable piece but they don’t give you an adapter piece and it doesn’t fit!

While the rod is relatively sturdy (though the curtains do catch on the telescoping portion - the plastic inserts could be tapered more) the finish on the WHITE rod is terrible. DO NOT buy this if you will be using grommeted curtains, as the grommets will immediately mar the finish. The rod has a matte white finish which marks instantly. Should be powdercoated or hard gloss enamel. The finials look OK but are cheap plastic. The brackets have completely exposed screws. A couple of extra cents and someone could have designed a piece of plastic to cover them, which I will now have to do. Will likely replace these with a better made 1" diameter rod as soon as I find one, though having spent a lot of time mounting the brackets I probably will keep those

I picked up these curtain rods from Walmart, but when I got home, I discovered some parts were missing, and the instructions were torn, as if it had been returned before. It was disappointing since I couldn’t properly install them right away. I’d recommend better quality checks on pickup orders to avoid this.
