Mainstays 13" LED USB-Powered Dimmable Clip-on Task Lamp, Black

This little clip on light isn't flimsy! The bulb feels sturdy and quality. The clip is strong and would be great for a nightstand or a desk lamp. I have it clipped to my headboard and use it instead of my room light. Its just enough illumination for me and I don't have to get up to turn my light off. I have used a lot of clip on and small lights and so far, this is the best. Other reviews say it dies after a couple months...I REALLY HOPE THATS NOT TRUE. or else I'll have to keep buying them. They're worth it.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ITEM! I use it every night to read in bed. I love how the light can be dimmed as well as when it's off there's a blue light showing the controls. I would definitely recommend this item for fellow readers or to anyone who just needs an extra light.

I bought this to clip to my accessory table. The clip is great, the adjustable brightness a great addition. I am hoping to figure out the issue with the glare. Getting it just right will be a chore. I like that i do not have to have all the overhead lights on to do my Diamond Dotz design anymore. This light allows me to do my thing while my husband and I wind down for the evening.

I have this light clipped to my headboard so I can reach it from my bed. The issue I have with it is the cord and switch are clear so it glows a super bright blue and is incredibly disruptive of my sleep. I used paper tape, covered most of the cord and switch. It is MUCH less bright. Really the only issue. I can turn the main light up and down without even looking at it. It's dim enough pointed at the ceiling that it makes a comforting light even when on the brightest setting.

The only complaint I have about this light is I wish it was a little taller when attached to the table. I keep bumping my hand and arm when I'm using this as a spotlight for my diamond art. I use this for extra light and its very adjustable so I can focus on the spot I'm working on. It seems sturdy, and time will tell, but so far, I'm happy with this purchase and quick delivery.

This was very nearly a 5 start rating. Call it a 4.8. I'm impressed. pros; 1) out of the box, the clamp isn't just "sturdy". It opens wide and clamps very strongly. I've been disappointed by clip lights in the past because they require a square, narrow edge to clamp to. I have a sleigh bed. The top of the headboard is curved toward the wall and over 2" thick. Clips usually slide right off but this one clamped tight!!! 2) the bulb is very bright which might give you a headache if reading at night, but the dimmer means you can adjust to your circumstances 3) the gooseneck is long enough and flexible enough to adjust perfectly and doesn't slither and sag with gravity or spring. Adjusting it also doesn't put strain on that awesome clamp! Cons: 1) you need a brick or a computer to plug it in, since it's a USB cord instead of a regular plug. 2) the cord is a little short. as long as you're near an outlet, you can make it work, but the dimmer is on the cord so you have to hold it to access the dimmer so wherever you put it should be nearest a plug and nearest you if you mind bending and reaching to adjust the brightness

Was great in beginning then started going off . Then started going on and off to the point of noy coming on then it act like a strobe light. So working correctly for 2 months then started acting up to being useless at 8 months. Worry about it being a fire hazard because it shorts out.

The light serves it's purpose. It's clipped to the headboard for late night reading. I like that I could dim it to the brightness level I wanted and it remembers that level for the next time I turn it on. My biggest complaint is the switch. I wish it was on or closer to the clamp. Worse, there's a bright blue light inside the switch when the lamp is off. I wrapped it in black electrical tape to make it not as bright, but there's still a blue glow coming from behind my bed when I'm trying to sleep because of the switch.

The lamp doesn't provide enough light. I really purchased it for my headboard so I could read at night. I had no idea that it did not have a normal electrical plug and I don't have a USB port in my bedroom. Therefore the lamp is only usable on my desk. I have a desk lamp. I am planning to return the LED lamp.

Purchased July 4th to light a clock at night for an elderly person. In early September it began getting very dim (plugged in using USB cord) then went completely dark! Only 3 months for $10 tax? Not worth it at all! 😳 I read ALL the reviews and thought Mainstays would be an okay risk. ☹️ Boo, Mainstays! I'm ill and haven't been able to take it back, so of course I didn't make the "return window."
