Mainstays Space-Saving Collapsible Bamboo Laundry Clothes Drying Rack

I bought this same drying rack well over 5 years ago and it is still being used and in perfect shape. I needed 2 more and happened to find them on the Walmart website. I was thrilled to be able to find the same one. Highly recommend this product.

I had ordered a rack from Amazon and when I got it, the screws were missing. When I contacted the American company who made it, they were like too bad, send it back. So fine that's what I did. I am so glad because for an additional dollar, I got one that was so much better. The Walmart rack has metal rods and the wood is bamboo . Very sturdy when put together. Only took me about 15 minutes to complete and I've already got it outside with my bathroom rugs drying in the sun. Would definitely recommend.

Was v ery pleased with the outcome. Went to pick the item up and waited in the assigned parking lot. Advised to go up to the open area in front part of building. everything was closed due to remodel. Asked a couple of employees returning carts, was told to ask employees coming out with blue call in orders. Spoke with a gentleman who immediately went in and returned with my order. Very pleasant, polite, helpful and efficient. Asked his name but have forgotten it by now.

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. I thought I was overpaying for the usual cheap wood dowel wobbly rack I was replacing that I had bought years ago for $8 or $9. I took off a star only because It does not indicate on the box nor on the website that only the frame is bamboo, the dowels are metal and have to be assembled with screws and wrench (provided). But it's a nice sturdy item, easy to put together, even for an old arthritic lady like me, and I am very happy with it. Just took my time and figured it all out before I started. It's a bit stiff as far as collapsing to fold up and reopening, and I recommend re-tightening the screws anytime you do fold it down, and then open it back up.

Since when clothes line dryers got expensive?! When I saw this I felt better to purchase this at the $20 price then over $30 dollars...which is crazy. I believe its always good to have a line dryer since that is how I was raised. Its pretty sturdy for putting adult clothes on it which is a plus. I havent used the frame yet for blankets but I would assume to maybe put only a blanket on at a time with nothing else to alleviate the weight. The frame is wooden and the poles are metal...no plastic. When assembling keep in mind the screws has to be put in the hole then you screw the poles on the screw...wish I knew that before i thought I had a malfunction item LOL but its easy to put together since they give everything you needs. Folds up tiny when not in use.

My apartment doesn’t have a laundry room and my budget is not laundromat friendly. I wash everything by hand and hang to dry. I bought this because of the price. My teenage son assembled it quickly. It’s constructed of lightweight wood and metal rods. It does fold down easily and can be stored out of sight. It’s not really wide, so I generally just use it to dry socks, washcloths and hand towels. Due to its size I won’t buy another one but if you need something to dry small items, cloth diapers, or baby clothes then this would work well for you.

The drying rack is not as sturdy as previous models. The bolts holding the bars in place have to be tightened or loosened every time you set up the rack, move it, or fold the rack for storage. It's always either too tight, or too loose. If you have the room to set it up and never move it, it might work, although it still wobbles when I walk past it. As a unit that needs to fold down and store when not being used, it fails.

You will need that little wrench every time you collapse the rack and again when you open it, so don't throw it away. THE worst design, ever. I'm not hard on the rack, I don't collapse or open it roughly at all. I'm an older woman with arthritis but this rickety rack is not worth the money unless you also purchase some loctiite or glue to keep it from loosening again. Sturdiness depends on tightening all of bolts every time it is used. Buyer beware.

Since it was described as "collapsible" I expected an accordion-like frame that I would take out of the box and expand. NO. It had to be assembled,...all 20 screws of it! (And they constantly need to be re-tightened with the included hex wrench) So if you have arthritis as I do, don't buy it.

I bought this drying rack to air dry laundry on my back porch. It was easy to assemble, but the overall quality is disappointing. The bamboo started splintering almost immediately, especially where the arms lock into place, and it's not very easy to expand and collapse. It does hold about three-quarters of a load of laundry, but I expected better durability.
