The length, 12", is good. not too long or short. The tips are coated to grip. The weight is fairly light. I would have liked it to be heavier, but this is ok.
I use these all over my house to help pick up dropped items (kitchen, bathroom, living room). They are easy to use and do keep a good grip. Will definitely purchase again if needed.
Long enough for safe use on stove-top cooking and with air fryers. Has a lock system that took me a while to understand.
These 12 inch dripless tongs work great. There is a locking mechanism that holds them closed so they take up less space in your drawer. They grip the food that I need it to grip and seem to work great so far. I like the rubber on the handle as it helps keep it cool when handling hot food. I would recommend these if you’re looking for some new tongs.
Well I didn’t know it, but these tongs are an absolute necessity! They were lighter weight then I imaged and I am still skeptical on its durability and lifespan. I’ve never used rubber tipped tongs before and was thrilled to see they are excellent for using on a Teflon pan! I absolutely hate scratched cookware and am always very careful not to damage the surface of my copper pans when using metal utensils. I used these tongs when frying chicken and sautéing vegetables. The handles are long enough and the grip is secure so your fingers and hands do not get splattered on by liquids while you are flipping and moving around food. These tongs will be ideal for frying bacon. Formally, I used a fork when flipping bacon, but going forward, these tongs will be my go to utensil! Additionally, the rubber does not deteriorate or discolor in hot liquids nor when it’s been washed in the dishwasher. Although I’ve only used the tongs for cooking, they are attractive enough to use for serving. The rubber along the sides make the tongs comfortable in your hands, but what’s really cool is the locking device. If you pull the rubber circle at the top, the tongs lock in the shut position. This is perfect for storage! Furthermore, since space is limited on an outdoor grill, the circle can be used to hang the tongs. Overall, I’m thrilled with the tongs and definitely recommend it!
Very strong, great quality for the price.
These things are very useful and I have used them serval times since receiving them. They open pretty wide and close to be compact for storage. The pull tab to open and close works smoothly and efficiently. I like how long these rings are as well. The only bad thing I can think of for the tongs is that they are a bit lightweight, almost flimsy feeling. I don't know how well the plastic on the tongs will hold up over time to heat from the pan.
Broke after 5 months of use. The failure point is the hinge pin, the head broke off and the closing lock no longer works. They are decent tongs for cooking (not too hot of things, nylon melts) and serving. I really liked the length, long enough to keep your hand away from heat or splatter, but not too long that they don't fit in the drawer.
I received the Mainstays Dripless Tongs. The description stated silicone tips but to me it is just ordinary plastic material which is subpar. I do like the length of these has it helps when cooking with hot oil. The rubber grips are a nice touch too. What I don’t like about these is that the metal does not continue into the plastic tips and results in the tips barely having any strength. The plastic just flattens and doesn’t grip food well in my experience. They do not perform well on grill so I would only suggest stovetop use. I don’t recommend these.
The only silicone part, and even that is debatable, is the grip. The business end of these tongs are nylon, which melts at 400 degrees F and can contaminate food and ruin cookware and surfaces at that temperature. Hope you like the taste of melted plastic! The description clearly states silicone “ends”. Pure fantasy.
