The machine turned out to be everything I expected and more! I paid for assembly as with a machine as serious as this I did not want to make any mistakes. Assembly was quite expensive but absolutely essential - it would have taken me hours. Worth every penny. Time will tell regarding quality and reliability but looking good.
Perfect size for minimum strength training. Complicated to assemble but has very good directions of assembly, Lower Cable %26 upper cables are really all I use, Has more options than I need, I consider Marcy 100lb Home Gym minimum for upper %26 lower body strength training.
Not too hard to put together! I watched the videos prior to assembly. Took me a couple of days but this is due to working and coming home from work and working a little at a time and other gym equipment. I prob could have had this done within a couple if o continuously worked on it. The YouTube videos really help. I did this all by myself as a women lol It helps the tools needed are sectioned out but it'd be nice if the parts were labeled
First off, if you aren't able to easily follow instructions that only have pictures, I would highly recommend you take a look at the YouTube video of the assembly on this product. While the instructions were fantastic, they had no writing on it, only pictures with numbers next to the pieces. All hardware was in four separate 'boxes' that was marked with the step number (i.e., Step 1-6). I think that helped tremendously! It took me about an hour and a half to get this thing assembled by myself, but it took about 30 minutes just to get all the pieces unboxed - for a total of around two hours. Once you got going, it was really simple, but be careful to follow all the instructions on the pulleys, and install the wire BEFORE you put the pulleys on, or you'll end up having to pull them out like I did :) This weight machine isn't the biggest, but I want it for conditioning, and just to stay in shape. This will accomplish all of that. I love that it comes with a padlock, so my kids can't mess around with it and potentially get their fingers squished between the weight plates, either. The several times I've used it so far, I've been extremely happy with the quality for the price I paid. So far, it seems reliable, and it's very sturdy. Happy customer!
Has most of what you need. Good for beginners, but it is sturdy and has a lot of weights for strong men. The metal wont bend and the thing won't fall apart easily. Great product, and it is at a very reasonable price. Walmart had in stock. Otherwise it is $100 extra for shipping, so great deal. Be careful with assembling. Have to use your brain to figure out the drawings, because there are no printed instructions. Hint: Start with the first cable from the front and work to the back. Also, the pulldown bar is the widest part. It is removable, but is a very important part of this gym.
Best Home Gym available for the money. Awesome Customer Service. I had a couple of issues putting it together and called Customer Service and they answered the phone in less than 2 minutes. Gave me great instructions and solved the issue. After completing I had a problem. Again they answered immediately, had me send photos and solved my problem and now everything works perfectly. Best Customer Service ever.
To start the box will fit into the back seat of a 4 door car and probably the trunk as well but it weighs around 200-225 pounds so it’s difficult to move around. The dimensions of the box are 42x23x12 so it’s surprisingly small for what you’re getting. Set up was actually pretty straightforward took me a 55yr old disabled guy about 2.5 hours to complete and included lunch, a few smoke breaks, a conversation with the wife about how I was doing it wrong and a call about my cars warranty being expired. One thing to note, all of the hardware is in nice little packages designed to be opened as you go, this really helped in the setup because you don’t have to dig through bags of mixed bolts. I also highly recommend either drinking or smoking to the point of inebriation if you wish to understand the blown up sections in the manual otherwise they won’t make sense. Setup would have been faster but due to my disability I can’t kneel so I built the frame vertically using duct tape and wood clamps as extra hands. I do recommend using the assembly video on YouTube just search Marcy 100 pound stack and it pops up. This helped a lot with the cable and pulley system. Mine also came with an optional pinky toe breaker that I had to pound out with a 3lb sledge took a few whacks I included pictures. This thing is overall very compact, about the size of a computer desk and fits into a standard room height wise. I’m 5’ 11” 233 pounds and have no issues getting in and out of it even with my disability and range of motion hasn’t been an issue at all. It’s a little noisy but that’s to be expected when clanging plates together. Overall build quality is pretty good for what you are paying for, the included lat and straight bars are bare bones and probably will be replaced with ones that rotate but accessories are very affordable for these things. My overall opinion so far is positive with the exception of the toe breaker which should have been caught in QA, this was the one star deduction because it could be a problem for people that may not have a way of bending that thing back down. Only time will tell about durability but I’m only using it to maintain my fitness not bulk out so it should outlive me.
The weight set itself is fine. the issue is absolutely. Nothing is marked on any of the parts and there's no directions which was a nightmare. I had to pay $100 shipping for the seat back and front damage.Due to the box being completely smashed and clearly open on the bottom, a corner. For a $100 shipping it should not have come damaged.
I thought this home gym had potential… however it's missing the plate that you need to do curls and use to balance yourself when doing leg work. And I don't mean missing from the box… it shows the plate in the directions on hour to use the machine's and when I contacted Marcy they told me the machine no longer comes with the plate. I asked if I could buy it and they said no, they don't sell it. So the machine can only really do half of what I thought it could. So half of a waste on money. P.S. the Angie assembly service was TERRIBLE.
The assembly took forever because the manual had no instructions, just visuals. It was easy to follow until page 14 , where the entire page was filled with components everywhere. Their online video assembly lacked both spoken words and text, making it unclear which specific bolts or nuts were used, or how exactly to assemble them, which caused me to have to undo and rebuild repeatedly. Once assembled, it's quite easy to use. It's also pretty extensive in what you can do for the price. It is a bit wobbly and shaky, though. The customer service is horrible, though. One of the cables and rods was damaged / loose, and I needed to be sent a replacement. I called CS, they told me to text them pictures of the items, and then ghosted me. I had to call the next day again to get an update, to which they told me the two items would start shipping and I'd receive them in 7-10 days. I asked for a tracking number, and they said one would be made when it was shipped. Three business days had passed, so I called them again, and it turns out, it hadn't been shipped at all!! One of the items was out of stock and was on the back burner, so I would have to wait 6-8 weeks for that to come in!!! None of which I was told until I asked for it. Awesome service
