This is a great workout machine. It's solid all the way around, the seat is comfortable, and it offers all of the exercises that I do at the gym—and I had wanted for my home routine. I purchased extra workout accessories like row bars, ropes, and a 5'x7' gorilla mat. Everything fit perfectly. The only thing I would have liked is for the seat to move forward or backward, but overall it is better than I expected.
I got one and I like it. The only thing is mine did not come with the short bar to do arm curls. I'd like to get one for it. But other that'll that it's a great work out machine.
Wonderful work out machine and easy to use
I've had a home gym for years. When I retired, I gave it to my grandson. I'm retired! My bathroom scale started to remind why I had a home gym..... rut ro. I had to start a workout program all over. I chose the Marcy 990. My first workout was getting the three boxes up a flight of stairs. At 68 and out of shape, I relied on Egyptian Technology. That was something I learned getting the old Harley up a flight of stairs. Slow, but do-able. The packaging was great. Re-enforced with plywood. everything padded and wrapped. Once all sorted out, I put on a pot of coffee. At a relaxed speed, I had it fully assembled and ready to go in a little over four hours. The instructions were easy to follow and the pieces fit together flawlessly. It was a good choice and it's two weeks into the routines. Very smooth! Looking forward to a modeling career in the Spring.... ha ha
I purchased this Home Gym 10 days back. I have no second thoughts on this purchase. If it a very solid machine and a great bargain when compared with other similar products. It took me a while to assemble. As read elsewhere, I agree that little verbiage at each step would have greatly helped. All the hardware is exact and no spares. Pictures are not very intuitive and don't be surprised if you run out of washers. They are not clearly tagged in the pictures. Give yourselves lot of time to assemble. At certain steps, you will need additional help. Steps requiring additional help is not clearly marked. I needed it during initial stages for frame assembly. Besides assembly, I did had some damages parts. Customer Service is nice. If you are looking for a great Home Gym, I recommend this product.
Great machine for the price. It is pretty sturdy and goes together well, although it takes some time and attention to detail. I'm pretty familiar with what exercises to do, but still like the appearance and info on the weight stack decal. I'm happy with all of the exercises this machine offers, but it has a few issues I will outline: - People over 6'5 may find some exercises hard to do well (lat pull, leg curl - I like being able to transition from bench press to flies, but you have to battle the fly pulleys a little to keep them even while exercising - It feels like the seat pad needs to be longer...when I sit to do chest press/flies, my butt is going off the back because there is a space between it and the support pole. - The chain you see in some pics is a necessity because the range of motion of the weight stack is a bit small. It smacks the top if you don't use the chain to limit the range of motion. Doable, but a bit of a pain - When you use the lower/front pulley for curls or anything while not seated, it can lift up the whole machine unless you stand on the floor bracket (which isn't hard to do) - The spacing between the lower and upper foam rollers seems to small when doing hamstring curls. My foot doesn't clear the floor and the upper roller is so low it feels like it's going to dislocate my knee cap...and I'm only 5'6 - It's hard to stay in the correct position when doing leg extensions without a handle or some way to keep from sliding backwards on the seat, which causes your knee joint to move out of alignment with the pivot point. - The coiled spring wire attached to the weight pin occasionally gets stuck in between weights - I may have to remove it All of that said, I would purchase this machine again. I think for the price it still offers a good home workout, and I imagine that these problems are shared with most home gyms on the market.
The weight machine is decent enough and will get the job done. As far as putting it together it's hard to believe that a major company would not tag individual parts. They label them in the instructions but the part themselves you have to cross reference the pictures which is annoying. Not one single steel member, bracket or pad is labeled that along I would not recommend this product or manufacture
So I've used this for a month now, and I feel like it's worth the $400, but I feel like an actual cable handle should have been thrown in for exercises done on the lowest cable. Holding onto the ankle attachment for rowing and oblique exercises can quickly harm your knuckles if you're pulling a heavy weight. Further, if you do the bum exercises with the ankle attachment, the bottom cushions (?) also pull out with each pull motion. Overall fine purchase considering most free weights were sold out because everyone's under a shelter in place order, but the device could be improved.
Clled walmart 3 times - explained I was missing parts, nothing has been done about this. called back a forth time and spoke to someone that cant even speak english - I have no clue as to what she said. Very disappointed and very upset that my son cant even used his only christmas present. When delievered the driver and helper let it free fall from the truck to the ground, I asked them if they could please take it to the door so I could get it inside or put it in the garage they weren't nice to me at all !
