%231. Compostable (wish ALL PLASTIC in the US was biodegradable). They keep food fresh better than regular plastic zip lock bags.
These work great as long as you're not in a humid environment. They "breathe" more than regular plastic ziplock bags. Some things might get a little soggy if you're in a humid place.
priced pretty well. Good quality.
I used the regular plastic baggies for my lunch and chips ext so I wanted to try these baggies out bc they really are different material that I usually use but overall I like them the material is soft and easy to open and close I can use these again but depends on what I put in them I know these are supposed to be good for the environment bc they are made of the earth plants so I'll do my part and continue to use these baggies for now on.
Love love love these compostable quart sized bags made from plants. These are soft and fresh feeling. Strong and made from plants. I highly recommend them. I would definitely purchased these again. These are not microwave safe, which is fine but it would be better if these could go from freezer to microwave to table.....hmmm something to think about....
When I received these storage bags, I wasn't sure how they'd compare to traditional quart bags. But I am a fan and liking these bags so far. They are strong, easy to open/close and exactly like the regular bags. The huge plus point is that these are commerically compostable (meaning you can't turn them into compost at home by tossing them into a compost bin). The bags come neatly packaged so you can store the entire box in your drawer. They can even be easily reused when possible therefore making your purchase go a lot further (and you're helping the environment too when reusing). This is definitely my go to quart storage bags and will be looking for other sizes too.Great idea and great product to help the environment.
We cook/prepare the majority of our meals and take leftovers for work/school lunches. These compostable bags function just like regular plastic sand which bags however once done, these bags and any leftover food contents can go to the compost bin instead of the regular trash that goes to landfills. Easy to write on and label. Makes life easy with less worry about plastics.
I use these bags on a seven day backpacking trip. The zipper worked well even with frequent opening and closing. However, pointy foods like crackers and granola poked holes in the bag. I will continue to use these bags in order to help reduce the amount of plastic I use. I recommend them.
I thought these were going to be thin and chincy in order to compose, but surprisingly, they are a nice thick quality similar to the new plastic grocery bags the stores have now. I'm impressed. It states that they will fully decompose in the soil by 12 months in the soil. I cannot provide a review on that, but I am glad they have these. I would love to try the tall kitchen garbage bags, but they are a little to pricey yet for me. I hope, as it seems to work out, that more companies will jump on this bandwagon by manufacturing similar, and then the prices will come down. I was utilizing reusable grocery bags 40 years ago, including fruit and vegetable bags. Funny that it took this long for everyone to catch on!
I was glad to pay the higher price for these bags to help the environment, but the bags sweat, always have moisture on the outside, the sandwich bread was dried out the next day, %26 the bags are very difficult to get back open once sealed. Then I learn they are only compostable if you have a specific facility to use - my fault for not reading the fine print. Very unhappy.
