Classic animation on Blu-ray!
I love the outstanding quality of those classic movie short subject Superman cartoon and it is nice it has an extra feature as well. One of these cartoons with robots influenced Miyazaki's robot in CASTLE IN THE SKY according to an interveiw I read !

This is a nicely-mastered release of these cartoons - they are in the public domain so they are not hard to find on budget discs, but Warner Brothers has given these full-color Fleischer Studios classics the best treatment possible. They look great with detailed, shaded animation and some pioneering effects animation. These wartime cartoons (1941-1943) do contain some offensive racial caricatures and general nationalistic propaganda, so be aware of that, but technically these are among the most sophisticated short cartoons of the last century. Supplementary material includes a great documentary about the production and legacy of these cartoons and of Superman himself. Great, complete collection and the best these are ever likely to look.
