This ground nutmeg adds such a great flavor you everything! My apple pie and pumpkin muffins were so much more flavorful when I added this ground nutmeg! It smells so fresh, I used to do freshly ground nutmeg but switching to this is so much easier and is just as flavorful!
Nutmeg in Southern sweets is quiet power. In tea cakes, it's the hush behind the sugar—just enough to make the butter feel nostalgic. In sweet potato pie, it's the grounding note that keeps the sweetness from floating off. You don't taste nutmeg first, but you'd miss it if it were gone. It's the elder spice, used with care, never loud, always intentional. It's not just flavor, it's memory, restraint, and depth. A pinch says: this was made with knowing hands.
So I am very picky about buying spices and it actually mostly comes down to the packaging. This product in the 1.1oz size did not disappoint as it had an excellent, tight fitting seal that was easy to open, and the ability to both sprinkle or scoop (just lift the tab). No annoying twist mechanism, no mess and no lid rolling away. A little goes a long way with nutmeg so I appreciated this small size as I don't want to keep this too long before getting a fresh bottle. I made a savory and a sweet once I got this - both turned out nicely. Definitely recommend using nutmeg in chicken pot pie, this plus garlic powder were the only spices other than salt and pepper and my family devoured it and asked for seconds. I also made pumpkin energy balls as snacks for my baby. She immediately decided she loved them and reached out for more.
I received McCormick Ground Nutmeg as a free sample and I have to say, McCormick never seems to disappoint. Nutmeg is a pantry staple with warm and nutty flavors. I've used many different brands and this is my absolute favorite. It's fresh and aromatic, just how I like it. A little goes a looong way! Happy with another addition to my McCormick spice collection.
McCormick Ground Nutmeg is a top quality! The flavor is rich, fresh, and aromatic. It's perfect for baking, cooking, and even holiday drinks. It blends smoothly without clumping and adds the perfect warm, slightly sweet spice. Great quality as always from McCormick.
The quality of this ground nutmeg seems top notch. One thing I like to do with it is to mix it in with coffee grounds before brewing coffee. I think this gives the coffee a nice flavor. But I've used the nutmeg in oatmeal and other foods too, and it seems to go well with a lot of other foods.
I have always used this vanilla, and have been very satisfied with it. Price went up too much and I considered using a different brand, but couldn't make myself do it. Everything had gone up in price in the past year. It's kind of scary for us poor folks that have to watch every nickel we spend.
When you are baking treats, use the one has the best taste for your recipe. I have always used pure vanilla and butter for my baking. I would rather bake less, than choose something that makes the effort seem like a waster of time. Quality over quantity.
The flavor in this nutmeg is amazing! i have used it in my coffee and baked with it. It is very strong. It mixes well and doesn't have an off taste. I would use it again.
I've always been a long time customer of McCormick- quality herbs and spices at a reasonable price. Used the nutmeg for my egg nog and it turned out pperfect! I will definitely be using this for all my holiday favorite recipes!
