Great tasting chili mix -- sautee an onion, brown a pound of ground beef, add this chili mix, an undrained can of red kidney beans, and a can of undrained DelMonte Diced tomatoes with basil, garlic, and oregano. and allow to lightly simmer for 10 minutes and 'marry' all the flavors -- delicious !!
McCormick has great spices. I always keep several of their chili version packets on hand, especially in the winter. Each packet flavors one pound of ground beef. The McCormick chili gets compliments every time I make it. There is not a lot of heat. It's just mildly spicy.
I use it when I make chili. I use chicken breast cut into small cubes instead of ground beef, one can each of kidney beans, corn and stewed tomatoes with Italian spices. Brown the chicken and add the spice package to the chicken. It gets distributed better this way. Include the liquid in the cans. If the chili seems too watery to you, just add some flour to cold water. Let it cook on low for awhile. Serve with grated cheese, chopped onions. sour cream.etc. Enjoy!
The flavor is well balanced without being too spicy. I like that I don't have to measure out a bunch of different ingredients. It blends easily into the meat and beans and gives my chili a classic, hearty taste every time. It's simple, consistent, and makes weeknight cooking much easier.
This McCormick Original Chili packet is hands-down my absolute go-to seasoning mix every single time I make a batch. It completely takes the guesswork out of spice ratios and creates a rich, classic flavor every single time. The heat level is spot on—it gives you just enough kick to know it's chili, but it is not overwhelming at all, making it perfect for the whole family. I love how well the spices blend into the tomato base without tasting powdery or artificial. To me, throwing in plenty of dark red kidney beans is a must for the perfect texture, and this seasoning coats everything beautifully. It is incredibly quick, easy to use, and turns a simple ground meat and bean dish into a delicious, comforting dinner in under thirty minutes. I always keep three or four of these packets stocked in my pantry for an easy weeknight meal!
my husband always makes homemade chili and always use McCormick chili seasoning he actually wanted chili contest before and this was the season he uses every time
This chili mix makes a fast, easy and tasty meal. Just fry up a pound of hamburger meat, add a can of diced tomatoes and your favorite beans. Simmer for 10 minutes, serve with shredded cheese on top. Enjoy!
so many items change over the years. few for the better. I love this chilli mix when I have been cooking eating for 40 years. easy and always a crowd pleaser. can't go wrong.
This is the best chili mix that I have ever eaten. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I cooked it with ground Jennie O turkey and Bush chili beans, it was so delicious.
I'm on the fence about McCormick Chili Seasoning. It has decent flavor, but it takes a lot to really bring it out. I ended up adding beef bouillon, butter, and extra Worcestershire sauce just to get it where I wanted. The whole point of using a seasoning packet was supposed to be a time saver, but I actually spent more time tweaking this than I do with my other chili recipes. To be fair, this may have been user error. I only used half the packet at first because I didn't want the chili to be too spicy. After 4–5 hours in the slow cooker, it ended up tasting more like tomato soup than chili. Adding the rest of the packet and a bit of salt fixed it, though. Overall, it works but only if you're willing to adjust it, which kind of defeats the “easy” part.
