Obviously, this is for stew. I make stew about once a month. The directions for this shows cooking on the stove top. I don't. I cook it in the crock pot. It also says use water. I use tomato juice. The reason I like it is it has all the herbs and spices I would have to use and it's all in one small package. I do season my stew meat but it's not necessary. So I do give this 5 stars. Oh, and I have made beef noodle soup with it too. Yummy.
The McCormick Classic Beef Stew Seasoning Mix is an absolute must-have for easy, delicious comfort meals. It brings rich, hearty flavor with the perfect blend of spices, making homemade beef stew taste like it simmered all day. The seasoning mixes in smoothly, enhances every ingredient, and saves so much prep time. Consistent, flavorful, and incredibly convenient—this packet always delivers a warm, satisfying stew the whole family loves!
These Brats are absolutely disgusting. I like the taste of Dr Pepper, but not on my Brats. It's a very sweet taste which a Brat should never be. It was slightly tolerable when I added a load of celery salt. I will never buy these again. Save yourself the trouble and do not buy them.
I cooked this stew for the first time but realized I was out of flour so I used the stew mix to coat the meat while browning it. It turned into the best stew I've ever made. My dinner guest called the next day asking to come eat any leftovers. My plans to freeze what was left was happily unnecessary! Not a drop left. Thx McCormick!
Just used this to made a big pot of beef stew using this and following packet instructions. It was so good. Used a lot of fresh vegetables with fresh beef cubes in the instant pot. I used some beef bone broth instead of water. Will definitely buy again.
This is the brand I've always used and have always been satisfied with so I don't think there's any reason to try anything else. We always enjoy the flavor of the gravy from the beef stew when I make it.
Love this seasoning makes great stew or even a pot roast in crockpot helps to get a hearty dinner done in morning ready by evening in crockpots or on stovetop in just few hours
McCormick has very good seasons and seasons mix. The food you prepare comes out so flavorful with their seasonings. Delivery service is always fast. They bring your things to your home very quickly.
I like using shortcuts in cooking when it does NOT impact the flavor of the dish I'm cooking. This McCormick Beef Stew Seasoning Mix has just the right amount of seasoning for my taste when I make up beef stew in my crockpot. I've tried adding it in different ways and at different times during the process of making the stew - from seasoning the meat with some of it first, before cooking up the meat in a skillet, then transferring the meat, adding some water to the skillet and scrapping up the residue to add to the crockpot along with the vegetables and the rest of the seasoning packet mixed with water - to browning the meat in the crockpot, then adding the seasoning mixed with water and letting that cook a bit while I chop up fresh vegetables to add to the stew, plus a bit more water .
I always trusted McCormick. I was so disappointed in this purchase. The list of ingredients was scary. The product did not dissolve well in the stew. It turned into gummy little clumps. When I finally got it dissolved, it added almost no flavor. I don't think McCormick will continue to be my first choice in seasonings.
