I love these chopped chives! I've been adding them to my sour cream on my baked potatoes. These add the perfect amount of flavor. Now I'm going to have to make some potato skins with bacon and cheese and add sour cream and these chives. Now that will be good. I don't eat them often enough to buy them fresh. Most would just go to waste. So this is perfect for me. Yum!
MCCORMICK GOURMET HERBS CHOPPED CHIVES ADDS A NICE FLAVOR TO YOUR TACOS BAKED POTATOES OR MANY OTHER THINGS AND IT ALSO GIVES IT A NICE LOOK. YOU CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON MCCORMICK SPICES HERBS AND SEASONINGS TO BE FRESH AND FLAVORFUL. I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE GOURMET PART. IS IT CALLED GOURMET FOR ANY SPECIAL REASON? IT DOES HAVE A NICE JAR FOR DISPLAY AND THE CHIVES LOOK GOOD. BUT TO ME CHIVES ARE CHIVES. MAYBE THEY SHOULD EXPLAIN ON THE JAR WHY IT IS CONSIDERED GOURMET LIKE WHERE OR HOW ITS GROWN OR PICKED OR SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE PROCESSING. AS I SAID I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED MCCORMICK PRODUCTS BUT WHEN I GO INTO THE GROCERY STORE I WOULD NOT PAY EXTRA BECAUSE IT CLAIMS ITS BETTER I BUY MCCORMICK BRAND BECAUSE OF ITS QUALITY AND I WILL CONTINUE TO USE THE MCCORMICK BRAND, I DO RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. IT IS A MUST HAVE AROUND MY KITCHEN
This is a bottle of McCormick Gourmet All Natural Chives. Net WT 0.12 oz (3g) bottle The chives have a mild onion flavor and bright green color. You can sprinkle them on baked potatoes, eggs, vegetables and dips. 1 tsp dried equals 2 tsp fresh. The McCormick Gourmet brand is all natural with no additives. I realy like the flavor of these. Especially good on mashed potatoes. I found that sprinkled in salads, it gives it an extra onion flavor. At Walmart it cost $5.74, which is a very good price for such a quality product. I highly recommend it and do plan on getting more. And have told my friends how good it is and to try it.
Thanks McCormick Gourmet for the free All Natural Chives! These chives were a great addition to my pantry. They're a bright green color and add a pop to any meal. I used on baked cod, and also mixed into a clam linguine. Both dishes were wonderful with a subtle "oniony" taste on the top. I like the taste a lot, so I use a lot - but you can cater to your own taste. Also, it seems light/small, but these will go a long way. I enjoy and trust other McCormick products in my kitchen, and would absolutely buy this in the future.
"Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from a jar of dried chives, but McCormick Gourmet All Natural Chives really won me over. I've been using them for a few weeks now and I'm genuinely impressed with the quality. The color is a nice bright green, which is a good sign iit tells you the herbs haven't been sitting on a shelf forever. The taste holds up really well too, even when added to hot dishes. They smell and taste like the real thing; fresh, mild, and with that subtle onion flavor that chives are known for, without being overpowering. No artificial aftertaste, just clean, natural herb flavor, which is exactly what you want. I've been sprinkling them on pretty much everything lately omelets, baked potatoes, soups, and pasta. They add a nice finishing touch to just about any dish. If you cook even a little bit, these are absolutely worth keeping in your spice cabinet
The pieces of chive in the McCormick spice jar were nice and big. When you pop open the lid you can actually smell a nice fragrance, a little oniony so it really gave the impression the spice was fresh. I used this in a few stews and to sprinkle over the top of cooked dishes to add a mild flavor when I did not have fresh chive. I had not invested in dried chives before so I appreciated branching out and trying a new product.
I put these on my zucchini chips and they are really good. The flavor is robust and genuine. I've tried other brands in the past that just didn't leave me feeling like a could reach the profile I wanted. The McCormich brand chives really reach what I want in a chive. I can hardly wait to try them other things. I may make a baked potato tomorrow just to use these on that, it's one of my favorite foods with chives.
These chives are a convenient way to add a mild, fresh onion-like flavor to everyday dishes. The color and taste are surprisingly vibrant for a dried herb, and they work well in eggs, potatoes, soups, and dips. The main downside is the small size for the price, but a little goes a long way
I made a tater tot casserole that I sprinkled the chives over the top after it was finished baking. The chives are shaved nice and fine, but the taste was very subtle. I needed to shake out a lot more than I was expecting. It did the trick, however I personally prefer fresh chives and it also gives you a crunch.
The item I received was not the item I ordered. Yes. It was Chives but I ordered from the picture of the new bottle with the screw on lid. I got the old bottle as you can see from your own pictures. I specifically wanted the new bottles.
