Mead Making Kit

In the process of my making my first batch! So far everything has been great! Came with 1gal glass bottle, airlock w/rubber stopper, yeast, yeast nutrient, and screw bottle cap. This does not have everything if you want a full kit to make a perfect brew. If you want a full kit it is going to cost a lot more. To lower costs I boiled water to disinfect. DO NOT BOIL THE PLASTIC AIRLOCK, IT WILL MELT AND CHANGE SHAPE. I also am not using a hydrometer and just watching the bubbles to tell me if its done. I used the yeast provided even tho the yeast you use can change the flavor and end result. I used bought cheap grocery store clover honey and apple juice with a little water. When primary fermentation is done, I will disinfect a large pot, gently pour in, clean and wash the bottle, and pour back into bottle for secondary fermentation. Rather than using an autosyphon and another bottle. This is not the recommended way, but I am trying to make a decent brew without spending a lot of money.

Easy to set up and we are eagerly awaiting our first batch! This is not a hobby for instant gratification- you have to have patience and willingness to educate yourself on all the necessary steps. We did end up needing a few supplies that weren't included but nothing major.

I made my first mead with this! It's great for a first step. While it wasn't perfect, this was good for a beginner.

For 18 dollars this is a solid deal. Just bare in mind, you'll probably need an auto siphon, a wine thief, and a hydrometer, to really do this right.

came in sturdy box. well packed. everything was good quality. if the mead is good. ill buy more to make extra batches.

If you like making your own Mead then this kit is a great thing to have to help you. It comes with everything you need to help you get started except the honey which you need to purchase separately which is to be expected. It also has detailed instructions that are easy to follow.

The instructions to fellow and the drink taste really good

Directions are very vague. It says sprinkle yeast on your mix but doesn't specify how much, some, all, half?

The bottle is good and the valve and stopper are great. But it seems to be somewhat I complete. It talks about a sanitizing solution,but that is not included. It also includes a non description item that it use is not mentioned

Two items ordered one never received. Told I would here from seller W/I 48 hrs. Been a week and haven't heard a word
