I found a pushmower on the side of the road with a "free" sign on it. I drained the old contaminated gas out and filled it with fresh fuel. Would not start. I put an ounce of Mechanic in a Bottle in it, primed it 10 times, left it overnight and the next day it started on the first pull. I've been mowing with it every week since. Mechanic in a bottle restores your carburetor . Highly recommended.
An older man told me to get this when my Craftsman lawn tractor was new 20 yrs ago. I used it every fill up, just a little. Never had any issues with the mower, but the storm surge got it. I bought a new one and do the same. It is great for keeping small engines running well.
This is the only fuel additive I ever used that actually worked. My motorcycles 1990 Honda Shadow 1100 and 1985 Shadow 700 had set for year and they wouldn't idle smoothly and were hard to start. I started to clean the carburetor, but when I last cleaned the carburetors I had them set and running perfectly and It is a big job. I also needed a fuel additive to deal with Ethanol in gas…which causes most of the noted problems as the fuel ages. I tried the additive and it actually worked great. Now I treat all the gas vehicles I have ( power washer, ATV..) with it with the result: It works. Note: Don't get the undiluted additive on paint on bike it will damage the paint; doesn't harm fuel lines. Very happy with Mechanic in a Bottle as well as fuel stabilizer to protect against Ethanol additive to fuel.
After seeing a review of this on YouTube I decided to try this out on a pressure washer I have that had a gunked up carburetor and see if it would clean out the carb. The pressure washer would only run on full choke before treating with the Mechanic in a Bottle. I added about 1 1/2 ounces to about a quart of gasoline in the tank and ran it for around 10-15 minutes and by the time I shut it down it had started running with the choke slightly open. I then let it sit in the carb overnight and the next day went out and started running it again. As it ran, it started running with the choke open more and more until after around 10 minutes it was running normally with the choke fully off. This impressed the heck out of me as in past days when I had carb problems I had ended up taking the carb off and taking it apart and cleaning it with carb cleaner, so this product saved me some headache and time. I think I will keep mixing a little of this product in the gas for the pressure washer as it sits unused for long periods of time.
I ran across this when I was having difficulty with getting a lawn tractor to run right. I used as directed and before long it was really running well. I don't know what's in this that made the difference but a couple other additives had not done anything.
As a lady I don't know small motors at all. Sometimes, my mower is crying for help. Slow To start. Chugging slowly. I add a little of this when refilling the gas, and boom it's like caffeine for the mower! Really great for people who just pour gas in and go!
there are some great reviews on you tube, such as from Chickanic who specializes in small engines and many others that have "how to use it" videos. Take the time to review these,, then use it on those mowers and edgers that won't start after leaving 10% Ethanol gas in the tank over the winter or for a few months. The ethanol in the gas hardens rubber jet and metering tips and gums up the floats and gas orifices. Works great on both two and four stroke carbs.
I like everything about this product. it does definitely clean the carburetor jets. I wish Walmart would sell it in a single bottle. I had to buy three
This 8oz bottle works great as an additive to a larger tank of your car or truck or can be split up into the smaller mower/snowblower/weedeater. Better at taking care of the ethanol/water issue in todays "regular" gas.
I watch a YouTube channel called Chickanic. She is a long time small engine mechanic. She uses Mechanic in a bottle on every engine she works on. And recommends that everyone should use it. Even to replace Stabil.
