Mega Construx Game of Thrones 8" Viserion Superposable

I love these! Great articulation (ball joints mostly) and the wings are super cool and made out of rubber. I got all three.

I really enjoyed Putting together this Little Dragon with my daughter. It was easy to follow the directions on how to assemble it without being so easy that my daughter would might be tempted to complain it was for "babies." As soon as my daughter saw the egg she wanted to "hatch it" and put the dragon together. I should note that neither one of us has actually seen Game Of Thrones yet we still enjoyed putting this little guy together and we are looking forward to collecting the rest of the Dragons in the series and making a little display of them. I got this for my 18 year old daughter since she loves Game of Thrones. She put it together easy enough with directions and has it displayed proudly in her bedroom. Everything on the dragon is moveable and the dragon sits on top of it's golden egg. You can pose it how you like including the wings. She had a little trouble making the dragon sit on the egg (she had to not touch it after she got the dragon posed). Otherwise we love it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I received this to review and my son loved it. He loves The Game of Thrones so he was so excited to build the dragon. He had so much fun putting it together and it is super easy to build. My teenage daughter is absolutely thrilled with this. Not only did she enjoy putting it together (as her younger brother watched enviously); but she now has it on display in her room. I chose this for my teen. He is 16 years old and right in the target age range. He has seen a few of the shows and loves the megablocks line of builds. He was excited about this going in. He wasn't challenged, though. He said that he felt like the age was set too high. He was expecting something challenging due to the age on it, but decided that it was probably more because of the show than the complication level. I think the design of this toy is very cool. The packaging is great, you can see and touch the egg while it's in the package. All the pieces fit inside the egg, which is very convenient if you don't want to display it. The dragon is nicely detailed and the pieces fit together fairly well. The pieces are very easy to take apart. The only downside is that we broke one of the poles trying to get it into place. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I received this Mega Construx Game of Thrones Dragon free for my honest review. The first thing I noticed about the product was its recommended age: 16+. Game of Thrones is not a show for children by any means, and I think it's strange to have a product based on such an adult program marketed to children at all, albeit older ones. While there is nothing particularly "adult" about the product, the media tie-in feels a bit inappropriate to me. That said, dragons are cool. They just are. I can see why this dragon might be appealing to some teenagers and older children. I had a couple of my teens open it up and put it together, which they did in no time. Generally, the dragon looks pretty neat. I like the different texture of the wings and the look of the egg. unfortunately, the pieces don't "fit" close together and smaller pieces (like the end of the tail) fall off with minimal touch. My daughter says it makes it look cheap and less-appealing. Also, the dragon on top of the post on the top of the egg is not as well-balanced as I'd like. It's top-heavy, and while it does remain steady on its own, it tends to fall over without much disturbance. It would be better if the bottom of the egg were weighted. I think the most disappointing thing is that it seems destined to do little else but sit on a shelf somewhere. Indeed, my children were done with it once they put it together. It isn't too interesting to mix the small number of pieces around to create a misshapen dragon, especially for the intended older teens. It's kind of cool as a display piece, especially for GoT fans I imagine, but it doesn't have quite the finished look of a model or sculpture. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
