Mega Construx Pokemon Squirtle vs. Charmander Battle Pack

She is now 7 (Oct birthday) and LOVED receiving the Squirtle & Charmander build. They are compatible with other building brands and she has since made a sort of Pokemon conservation park complete with a water section and even a rock wall! Honestly, her only complaint was that Squirtle ought to have come with sunglasses--like from the Squirtle Squad episode. She looks forward to collecting all the other Pokemon! This Pokemon set was better than I had hoped. The characters took some time for my sons (aged six and nine) to make, but the numerous layers to the bodies make them very durable. The playset was fairly easy to put together and the finished product makes a great display. The best part were the "powers" that come "shooting" from the hands. My daughter loves this. She is 6 years old and was able to follow the directions and put together with little help. She's a big Pokemon fan. The only issue she had was clicking the arms in place was a little hard for her. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I received this from Mattel to try it out for free. My package was missing two pieces but my son still figured it out. My 6 year old loves Pokemon, so this was great for him. Only thing was it needs to be packaged better. The directions should be set up with numbered packages. We had to open 3 different bags just to put together the first part. My 7 year old son was so excited to see these pokemon mega construx when they came in the mail. Opened the box and there is a lot of packaging for all the little pieces. Long story short my son started putting it together got frustrated because some of the pieces don't fit snugly and kept falling off. Handed over to my husband to finish and he had the same problems.
