Melissa & Doug Old MacDonald's Farm Sound Puzzle

This is the 6th sound puzzle I've bought for my 20 month old granddaughter and she loves it. We set it up for her at the dining room table and it works consistently well and holds her attention for quite a while. It's one of the first things she looks for when she visits!

This is the cutest little puzzle! I gave it to my 2 year old nephew and he played it with it for over an hour. He really loved the farm animal images on the large puzzle pieces, I think his favorite was the dog. He couldn’t help but laugh every time he put one of the puzzle pieces down because it played the Old McDonald song every time, although though the song is stuck in my head… I’m really glad he enjoyed it. I hope Melissa & Doug have different versions of this puzzle because I would definitely recommend to a friend and buy again.

I got this for my daughter who just turned 1 recently, and I like this as an introduction to puzzles. She loves animals and hearing the sounds they make so this was a great combination for her. The pieces are easy enough for her to grab, and the sounds make it more engaging for her than just any regular board puzzle. It helps her associate the animals with the sounds, while also helping her fit the pieces in the right spot. Granted, I am still helping her put the pieces in the right spot, but I feel confident that the sound association will help her once she starts to really understand it. I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review. My son loves farm animals and the old mac Donald song. Go he totally fell in love with this once he saw it. The product is constructed really well, no splinters, good finish, doesn’t chip off and the puzzle provides a good brain development activity. The pieces are easy to pick with little hands (my kid is 17 months old) and fit into their spots easily too. I’ve also started using this to teach him names and sounds of animals and its working great for that. The product does require batteries to get the audio/song going with it. So make sure you get that too!

Picked up for a my 2 1/2 year old niece as she loves to sing nursery rymes and play with puzzles. Warning, you must buy AAA batteries for it to work. As soon as she picked up the farmer, it started to play the song and each animal completes the verses which is a cool idea. The wooden pieces are very sturdy and can easily handle the abuse of a terrible twosome. I can easily see my niece sing and play with this for a long time. My 2 year old daughter loves Old MacDonald and knows her animals so this toy was a lot of fun for her, not so much to learn the animals but more to play with them and make up stories. She loves music so the song was definitely an added plus. Just don't forget the batteries. Love the quality and craftsmanship I have come to expect from Melissa and Doug toys, as now we have several in our home. All cutouts are very smoothly rounded so no corners or edges to worry about. Loved that the Melissa & Doug Old MacDonald's Farm puzzle is thick and sturdy. No worries about it withstanding the abuse of a 3 year old. It does require 2 AAA batteries that are NOT included so better have those ready. The song starts off every time the farmer is chosen, but my nephew was more entertained by lifting the different animals in a random order. He'll learn the animals noises more than the whole song unless someone chaperons him when he's playing with this. I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.

The puzzle is very well made,but it took us a while to add batteries , so music was not on.My kids like the puzzle overall, they are 21 months but still take time to solve the puzzle. but overall its a hood totII received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.

This cute Melissa & Doug puzzle has a thick backing too it, and the shapes our cute to precision, no wood splinters having off the pieces either. Which I've come across with other wood puzzle brands. This puzzle does require AAA batteries, so make sure you have those on hand if you want the Old McDonald song to play. The song is cute, but can probably become a little disruptive, as the song doesn't play all the way through, only when you lift each puzzle piece. I do like that the song starts when you lift the farmer first, however, it stops and then goes per animal. It's a bit cut up for my liking, however - my little one does't really care about that and it does teach her the song. I would give this puzzle as a gift to children 1 -2 years old, even though this puzzle says 3 years and up. “I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.”

Music plays when you take the pieces out, or in the middle of the night randomly if you forget to turn off the switch... not a great design. The pieces fit well though at least.
