Melissa & Doug Pets Wooden Peg Puzzle (8 pcs)

My grandsons both love this puzzle. Tip from one grandma to any moms or grandmas out there, buy more than one puzzle if you have more than one kid in a house then they can trade the puzzles back and forth when they get bored. Also, they like using the characters to play make believe together and its easier if they both have puzzle board characters to divide up which ones are theirs.

Great peg puzzle. The little peg attached to each puzzle piece allows my grandson to maneuver the puzzle pieces to fit in their slot. An extra bonus is that the picture of the piece is inside the slot. It allows him to match the piece with the picture. This puzzle is a winner.

This puzzle is a great value and nice for little hands to start learning how to put their shapes together. It helps them learn their animals and match up pictures. I would recommend it to my family and friends.

My 2 year old just received this last week. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift but she saw it while I was picking up other gifts and HAD to have it so I said what the heck take it! She's learned 4 different letters since getting this which is great from 0 - 4! When I was younger we didn't learn our ABC's until kindergarten so at 2 she's doing great! Would highly recommend for new learners!

Very nice wooden puzzle. Nice quality. Puzzle pieces lift off easy on the pegs for little fingers. The pieces of the puzzle are good quality, and the pictures underneath helps little ones put the pieces back. Great for learning shapes, animals, colors and even counting. You will like this puzzle, and it is at a great price also!!

My 2 year old was just starting to learn his letters, so I got this to help him practice. It's perfect! He plays with it several times a day, and it often holds his attention for quite a while. The pieces are on the smaller side, but they're not too small for his hands, and they seem durable. The pictures are cute and will be a good extension for when he is starting to learn the sounds the letters make. I recommend this puzzle to all my mom friends.

My granddaughter is picking up her alphabet quickly using this peg puzzle. I love the pegs for easy handling, and the design of the pictures and shapes helps her sound and feel the letters out. Excellent tactile and visual learning puzzle.

My 2.5 yr old loves this puzzle. It is bright, colorful and attractive. Behind each letter of the alphabet is a picture of something that starts with that letter. This is great for one on one time, especially when they are on the younger side. I do wish they could have made the entire puzzle a little bigger with more white between each letter. It can be confusing when they are looking for a certain picture but can't distinguish the individual pictures from the whole puzzle being one big picture. That can be worked through with repetitive and close supervision. Now he has memorized many of the letter/picture combos and can put about half the puzzle together without any help.

Clear, bright letters with a picture under each one! Some of the puzzle pieces can fit into the wrong places - like "O" into the "Q". My 2 yr old loves the colors and trying to put the pieces in, and my 4 year old uses it to help learn her letters. This has been a fun tool to work on her letters as a family when other learning tools start to seem dull. The puzzle is clear to see and read, but I love that it's not too big.

Cute, but was expecting it to be more like the old school alphabet puzzles where the letters are the same shape as the places they go. This one is more about matching the letters up to the picture underneath.
