it is a gas can. i needed it to put kerosene in for a heater I have not gotten yet. while it arrived early so did the storm. i have not been able to get out so it's still in the box on the porch.
I dislike close the rubber ring black was not snug to keep the kerosene in container it was twisted it needs to be replaced and then also was hard to open never did get it open to pour kerosene in had to end up using something else either send me the black ring so I can contain the kerosene and the container safely or refund my money thank you
Good price. Good quality can. Poor design spout. Lifting a 5gal can almost upside down to try to add fuel is ridiculous. I had to use a funnel %26 remove the spout to fuel my heater.
My honest opinion is that the spout thing is very difficult to remove ... I have to use pliers and try to get it to come off... but otherwise I like the container.
Everything except the spout is fine, it is very hard to work. The first time I used the can the spout was stuck, could not get it to release, after about 15 minutes it finally released.
I don't like the spout at all. I don't like that I cannot put in a syphon to distribute to kerosene in the heater. I don't have the strength to lift it and wait for it to fill.
Quality control is dismal. I bought 2 cans. On the first one I could not push down the red tab of the spout so it would not open the spout. On the second can I could not get the spout out of the can. I think the liner of the can that holds the spout was inserted wrong.
Spout is useless!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't even get it off! Had to break it off to fill it up. I would have taken it back if I could but I needed the jug to fill for my generator because we were getting 13” of snow! I will never buy one of these miserable useless pieces of crap ever again! And I certainly don't recommend it whatsoever!!!
This kerosene can has the worst spout ever. I have been using kerosene cans and gas cans for a very long time. My old one for too beat up, so I needed a new one. This was the only option the store had, and I thought a can was a can, right? No. The spout on this is trash. No matter what I did, it would not pour. When I removed it from the can, I could see how to operate it, but I needed two hands to do it. How many people can hold a 5 gallon can in one hand and still have 2 hands left over to operate the ridiculous spout? Whoever thought this up was … A.) not an outdoors person who uses these items in the cold and … B.) definitely not a woman. The size of women's hands and the strength needed to operate the spot make it almost unusable for a woman. Sad, honestly. Please just go back to the old spout and the vent hole. It worked for 70 years. If it ain't broke ….
This container is very poorly designed and manufactured. Cap requires a lot of finger strength to depress ratchet lock. Spout doesn't come out without the aid of a screwdriver as a lever. Once out the spout has some kind of flow locking arrangement that is inoperable abd non-intuitive. A complete piece of trash.
