I bought this, after reviewing several other similar products, to take a feral kitten in for neutering before beginning a new life indoors. Not only was it a breeze to assemble, the gate swung open wide enough to easily put the kitten inside. One of my shirts was placed inside to keep him comforted, and since he’s been indoors adjusting the past 2 days he’s decided this crate is where he wants to sleep and feel safe.
I wasn't expecting much for the cheap $ but I was amazingly surprised! Solid, sturdy and I felt confident my cat would be safe in it. I used double zip ties for the back connections instead of what was supplied. I experienceylosing a precious kitty years ago because of cheap connections. When an animal gets scared they have superhuman strength (or Suprakitty strength). **Added tidbit of info never think you can simply hold a kitty you're transporting either. Nature (God) designed them with a special ability to escape and they will. ..even the grasp of someone that loves them. Be safe🐾
Great deal get the one for small dogs it’s bigger for less money. Durable strong feeling when my huge cat is in it. Seems solid puts together easily. I like it.
I was pleasantly surprised at the size, and how well this has held up, especially for the price. I have been using it for my 4 month old chihuahua mix since I have gotten him, we use it about every other day and so far nothing has broken or fallen off. Its easy to clean, lightweight, and surprisingly sturdy. He is around 6lbs now and still has plenty of room.
overall good inexpensive hard carriers they felt sturdy enough for both of my male cats , both bit long and both of them around 12/14 lbs , it was pretty easy to put together and assemble the instructions were pretty straight forward and they both fit better than I had expected its pretty roomy in the inside , the only reason I took off a star is because I had ordered both new and one came used but with different assembly parts just the carrier used and it still worked just fine I was still planning to return them anyway , they left better than they came in the used one just had some scraps and hair but it was all cleaned after it still worked. As you can see below some reference and pictures of how it arrived and the cats fitting in!
this pet taxi was a challenge for me to snap together the order that this was connected to did not go well it will be straightened out with God's help for as the pet taxi I haven't used it yet it looks very well I hope my dog enjoys it
the only thing i dont care for is how the door opening is attached. 4 skinny plastic hinges. the rest is well made. there are no replacements if you loose one of the door hinge things
the locking mechanism is finicky the fur of the door in the swivel locks is not a good fit requiring me to force one side. my elderly parents struggle to get it locked right which results in the dog getting out when we are gone.
The door is the problem, very poor design. The carrier itself is large and roomy and plenty sturdy for a full grown cat . The door comes off, it doesn't open side to side or up and down, it literally comes out and in for placement. So if you have a pet that dosent want to go in and you have to scoot them in, the fight is on to get the door snapped into place before your pet escapes. Because of the door only, I would not recommend this product
NOT SECURED, CAT ESCAPE 2 TIMES, first time, I recovered her. Not today, I lost her. I was already at the Animal Shelter Hunting park after I exit my car when it happened. CARRIER WITH SCREW BETTER
