I love my cordless mini! I've been using 4 corded Dremels while standing at a workbench in my garage do create my relief carvings and signs and each had its own bit and cord. The usb-c is a must have and one of the comps has the older style....so buyer beware as it wasn't mentioned in the description. I'm now able to go outside in the sun and sit on the picnic table on the covered porch and just blow away the grinder dust. I bought 3 different cordless rotatory tools and this is by far the best engineered, light, and most ergonomic one..... no more hand cramps for these small, arthritic hands. The toggle on/off switch works with a click sound and also adjusts the speed with ease as opposed to the touchscreen on/off button which worked about 40% of the time on one of the models. As for noise, the low, vibratory "hum" was superior to the high pitched whine of the other models. The collet is easily changed to fit standard 1/8 bits and can be tightened with a small twist of a 3/8 wrench (which should've come with it, in MYO - it comes with the Dremels). The others are only made to be finger tightened with no flat spot for the wrench to do its magic so the bits slide out after a minute or two of carving - you can however use pliers to tighten. The battery life seems great - i worked on my project for at least 2 hours (I didn't time it) before it needed to recharge. I ordered 3 more as I want the ability to take my projects camping so I can create by the fire or under the EZ-Up on rainy days. It means more battery life and it also means I don't have to keep changing out my bits. Hubby is an Engineer and his only concern was the battery life and the brushes having to be changed but at this price point, who really cares?!!!! He uses it for precision grinding as a mechanic and engraving his ID on every tool he owns to prevent theft. Dremels have been our go to till now. They'll always be there if we need to do heavy work but we both love the rugged and well designed build of this mini cordless rotary tool, and yes the 3 speeds suffice. I mostly used the 2nd speed for my projects as I'm only carving on basswood. I can easily use the mini to do my cutting boards for the finishing work. Getting these is one of the best things I did for myself in the new year! I look forward to exploring all kinds of engraving and carving projects now that I can take it anywhere.
